Fluids Technician (Dragon Ground Operations)

FLUIDS TECHNICIAN (DRAGON GROUND OPERATIONS)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide daily support to the Dragon Ground Operations fluids team
  • Responsible for scheduling work, assigning work, and assessing completed work
  • Ensure employees have the tools and materials they need to carry out their duties
  • Work with other technicians during launches with vehicle roll out, launch procedures and post launch securing
  • Work with other fluids technicians during post-launch modifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience working with high pressure pneumatic, hydraulic and cryogenic fluids systems

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a technician
  • Knowledge of all types of bore scope inspection equipment
  • Understanding of fluids system schematics and procedures related to launch operations
  • Ability to be diplomatic with a variety of individuals across the organizational infrastructure
  • Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity
  • Ability to utilize precision measuring instruments
  • Knowledge of different fittings such as NPT and KC
  • Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
  • Must be willing to travel (approximately 10%) to other launch sites as necessary
  • Must be willing to work 50+ hours a week (overtime) when necessary to support launch and critical project timelines, flexibility required
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Ability to work at elevated heights (up to 300 feet), including the use of ladders
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments heat, cold, rain, ice
  • Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
