We have an exciting opportunity in the corporate Financial, Planning, and Analysis (FP&A) organization for an experienced Financial Analyst. Under general supervision this position will be a key contributor in the calculation of the indirect rates for General Atomics including corporate home office and a supporter of the broad FP&A roadmap to improve processes. The successful candidate will be experienced in developing indirect rates, financial modeling, forward thinking and working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. This position will be located in the Torrey Pines campus in San Diego, CA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Compile pool and base inputs from groups in the organization to calculate the indirect rates including; overhead, fringe benefit, general & administrative and home office allocations.
  • Manage the indirect rate and allocation financial excel models, with a focus on accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation.
  • Analyze the pool and base input source data to ensure consistency of rate buildups with GAs practices.
  • Review variance explanations for in-depth analysis and ask challenging questions while maintaining positive, professional relationships with groups in the organization.
  • Perform activities related to the development, planning, scheduling and administration of the Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRPs).
  • Support the overall FP&A organizational roadmap to move the indirect rate and allocation development process from excel based to an integrated planning system.
  • Provide modeling analysis for future initiatives and strategic changes such as M&A, new business, and cost accounting practice changes.
  • Continuously improve policies, procedures, processes, and business templates by recommending and leading change.
  • Interface with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and partner with organizations across the company in a highly collaborate environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting and/or finance and six or more years of progressive experience in rate development, financial analysis, cost accounting, or budgeting.
  • May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Understanding of direct and indirect costs, overheads, material burden, allocated costs.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and with experiences in implementing change for streamlining work and reducing waste.
  • Results oriented; demonstrated ability to work independently and meet firm deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and maintain strict privacy of confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication; confidence to interact vertically and horizontally across organizations, with both internal and external customers.
  • Must be customer focused and possess the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems of diverse scope and complexity.
