Assists with monthly financial updates (budget vs. actual) for the annual budget (grants, contracts, clinical trials, Medical Center Operating, discretionary, affiliation and endowments). Assists in financial analysis and expense management for the department. Provides reliable and responsive accounting and financial services in alignment with the strategic direction and needs of the department.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EJob Responsibilities:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EMonitors budgets on a monthly basis, confirms accuracy and conducts variance analysis of actual vs. budget.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EWorks with the departmental leadership team to monitor all program budgets and troubleshoots problems identified from reports (e.g. incorrectly allocated personnel and non-personnel expenses, etc).\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EResponsible for the preparation of budget reports and financial updates for internal review and analysis.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EPrepare analysis of fiscal projections to assist PI with operational and strategic planning.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EMonitors personnel allocations across accounts.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ERecommend and implement changes to ensure balanced accounts. When necessary, resolve funding overages.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EInitiate financial transactions to ensure that personnel and non-personnel expenditures are financially compliant.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAssists in developing the annual budget and managing the budget preparation processes.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EInitiate financial corrections to accounts in question by working with relevant NYULH departments and utilizing relevant tools to initiate account changes.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EReview all financial transactions, to thresholds, for each facultys research portfolio to ensure financial compliance and alignment with budget (AP, pCard, ePro).\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EProvides ad-hoc financial analysis for special projects within the research and administrative business plan development.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EOther duties as assigned.\u003C/li\u003E\u003C/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMinimum Qualifications:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003ETo qualify you must have a Bachelor\u0027s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline, preferably with experience and interest in the Health, Academic, Non-profit field.\u003C/li\u003E\u003C/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPreferred Qualifications:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003ESkills and Knowledge: Understanding of financial reporting requirements and regulations.
