Executive Summary:

The Manager, Finance is a key leader with responsibility for formulating a realistic, yet challenging site growth and profitability plan in partnership with the Site Leadership Team. In this role, the individual formulates, shapes, and drives an actionable financial plan to execute and achieve the Site’s strategy. In addition to leading the development and implementation of the financial plan, the Finance leader will work with their functional counterparts in the North America and PSG Finance community to adopt and implement our standard financial planning and reporting cadences, and with the Global Business Services team to ensure proper Controllership practices and controls are in place for the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partners as a member of the Site Leadership Team to formulate a responsible (challenging, robust, and realistic) growth plan and ensures execution by leading an integrated planning process, with clear cross functional owners of the performance drivers and results.
  • Serves as the financial leader in both guiding key site business decisions (S&OP factory planning, sales bidding, PPI targets, etc.) & in developing the long term growth program.
  • Leads all aspects of the forecasting and management reporting for the site.
  • Collaborate on major investment proposals to ensure timely execution of the strategy and limitation of risk associated with delay or lack of investment.
  • Provide meaningful month end analytics and guide local teams on areas of success and areas in need of improvement to ensure attainment of our annual AOP commitments.
  • Leads the annual budgeting practice for the site, ensuring a clear timeline and action plan is in place cross functionally to develop a comprehensive and executable plan.
  • Install and maintain a proper Sox / controls environment and a “culture of compliance” to limit business risk and exposures while enabling growth in a responsible manner.
  • Partner in the implementation of Thermo-Fisher’s Practical Process Improvement program to drive sustainable productivity gains across the site.
  • Manage services provided by Global Business Services team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of outsourced elements. Partner to drive site ownership of retained process elements to ensure a seamless delivery of in scope services.
  • Guide and coach cross functional teams in financial management practices to ensure clear accountabilities that align to our financial commitments. Act as both partner and coach in developing these organizational capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Finance or other related field required (and MBA preferred); CPA/CIMA (or country equivalent) strongly preferred
  • 5+ years relevant experience required, manufacturing experience a must
  • Must be able to handle ambiguity & guide cross functional partners through financial management practices
