The ideal candidate will enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer by providing support to the Ward Hill Fine Chemical Products location.

What will you do?
This finance leader will be expected to develop into a strong business partner of the Site Leader by initiating and implementing actions to increase earnings and cash flow, actively participating in all key operation initiatives and creating awareness as to the business issues and opportunities. In addition, this role will provide guidance to the Senior Manager, Finance on operations strategy in regard to restructuring, outsourcing, footprint optimization, site consolidation, sourcing, productivity, inventory, accounts receivable, capital expenditures, and create/maintain site sales forecast.

How will you get here?

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field required. A Master’s Degree and/or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing/Distribution experience is preferred.
  • An understanding of Cost Accounting is preferred.
  • Former leadership experience or managerial experience of a team preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 – 8 years progressive experience as a financial professional with an operational focus is strongly desired.
Expectations of the Role
  • Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis for strategies and initiatives as identified by the leadership team. Ensure alignment of local goals and initiatives with overall corporate goals and initiatives.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly forecast for the site.
  • Drive rigorous and transparent financial reporting (including savings on productivity improvements, scrap, freight, distribution cost, accounts receivable, inventory, backlog and backorder), run the site financial planning and analysis function (including budgeting).
  • Provide ongoing analytical and reporting support to the Operations team on freight and logistics costs, inventory and production volume, accounts receivable, overhead spending, bad debt, and inventory reserve performance.
  • Oversee development of annual budget and periodic forecast requirements for Operations.
  • Manage and develop a team of 5 FTE’s on site responsible for transactional accounting.
  • Timely visibility of all labor costs (FTE & Temporary).
  • Establish relationships with senior management level individuals across the division to define practices and strategies to add value and maintain cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to Divisional Approval Authority Matrix/Corporate accounting policies.
  • Create and maintain weekly site sales forecast. Ensure sales/booking data (SIOP) is reconciled and aligned with site reporting (Cognos, CMR).
  • Maintain and test site Internal controls (SOX) ensuring compliance and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Perform or lead special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Team-oriented approach and the ability to interact with varying levels of internal and external personnel.
  • Ability to build strong professional networks and the ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to flex communication styles to speak and present business acumen to a diverse group of stakeholders. Ability to clearly articulate and communicate, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze, present and report results.
  • Strong overall business acumen; although the primary responsibility is finance, this role will help to develop solutions to broader business issues.
  • Experience in a global manufacturing organization is desired, as is experience in installation of financial systems and development of product cost methodologies.
  • Superior quantitative and analytical capabilities with Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong financial systems capabilities (HFM, CMR, Cognos).
  • Must be able to work well under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a complex environment with strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
