This Finance Manager Commercial Ops role offers the opportunity to provide business partnership to 4-5 regional commercial VP’s with cross-matrix support for industry commercial VP’s within a Division (RSD) commercial organization. This position is also responsible for leading and providing financial reporting and analysis to RSD commercial and finance leadership. This includes managing a team of 4 analysts, responsibility for monthly & quarterly business review outputs, annual operating plan management, quarterly forecasts, and regular dashboard/KPI analytics for the commercial organization.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to drive business decisions through effective analysis and communication with senior leadership. This position also requires demonstrated strong leadership and a solid track record in strategic thinking and business partnership for a large size business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build business partner relationships with 4-5 regional VP’s through financial analytics and guidance
  • Supports Division & Group financial reporting teams in the monthly, quarterly and annual close process
  • Oversees the consolidation of RSD commercial financial results and effectively communicates exceptions to senior leadership
  • Drives improved efficiency and productivity through automation and collaboration with RSD commercial business intelligence
  • Manage, train, and develop 4 direct reports
  • Train commercial team on reporting and dashboard environments
  • Partners with multiple business functions on account movements, STRAP, and the RSD commercial budgeting process
    including the management and consolidation of the forecast and plan deliverables
  • Oversees RGA commercial sales controllership; manages non-program sales compensation credits in partnership with the RSD compensation team
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate presentations/analysis to senior management with minimal lead time
  • Assist in the annual price roll project for large customers requiring custom price analysis or customer-facing submission templates
  • Promotes an effective and efficient internal control environment and is compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley. Supports and complies with internal and external auditors including monthly audit support schedules.
  • Maintains a strong executive-level interface across various divisions and shared services
  • Performs other duties and project support as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or another relevant background
  • Advanced Qualification Preferred (CPA, MBA, or MS)
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Must have excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint are required; skills with Data Warehouse, COGNOS, and Visual Basic are preferred
  • Proven ability to analyze and communicate variances to management is required to be successful in this position, as well as, the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skills, are required. The candidate will have the ability to obtain operational buy-in with easy to understand analysis and presentations.
  • Recognized ability to make logical assumptions, identify trends, incorporate external and internal information, draw conclusions from ambiguous data, and effectively benchmark results against appropriate baselines.
