POSITION SUMMARY:   Provides onsite supervision, technical direction, design services, and customer support through the performance of on-site installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system. Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. Interprets customers' needs and clarifies if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to Program Management personnel or Program engineers. This position is primarily onboard ship/craft under construction.  Some travel will be required, i.e. to Tulsa, OK site for training on equipment, Seatrials of ship, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 

  • Communicates both written and orally with customer representatives and management personnel.
  • Thoroughly familiar with electromechanical and electronic circuitry and ability to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Mastery of schematics, blueprints, manuals and other specifications pertaining to the work to be performed.
  • Supervises onsite personnel, arranges material and coordinates services.
  • Ensures electromechanical/electronic safe work practices.
  • Familiarity with the work operations and the safety rules and regulations that apply to power distribution systems.
  • Ability to perform other related duties as assigned.

    LOCATION:  Marinette, Wisconsin

    QUALIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Oversee and assist in the performance of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on circuit breakers and switchboards such as checking, cleaning and repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
    • Oversee and assist in the set up and proper operation of test equipment in accordance to prescribed methods.
    • Oversee and assist in the operation of equipment to demonstrate its proper function or to analyze malfunctions using manufacturer’s manuals and specifications.
    • Oversee and assist in the repair, replacement and adjustment of equipment or components, replacing worn parts.
    • Oversee and assist in the inspection of components of equipment for accurate assembly and for defects such as loose screws, nuts connections and frayed wires. 
    • Consult with other Field Engineers, supervisors, and other engineers to plan layout of equipment and to resolve problems in system operations and maintenance.
    • Oversee and assist in the performance of the installation of repaired equipment in various settings, such as industrial and military establishments.
    • Ability to climb both vertical ladders and stairways and work in tight spaces.
    • To stand, kneel, extend overhead for prolong periods of time.
    • Complete all required documentation for review and submission.

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

      • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
      • 4 years experience in the electrical or electronics industry, with applicable military school or Associate/Bachelor degree in related technical field.
      • 6 years experience in the electrical or electronics industry with electrical or electronics trade school, if no degree.
