Role & Responsibilities
The Federal Project Manager is responsible for managing scope, schedule, and budget across the project lifecycle from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration. This person is responsible for planning and managing project staffing requirements, reporting project performance, and identifying and addressing scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure a successful delivery of assigned projects. This position is client facing and a primary interface with customers and contracting partners. The ideal candidate understands and has a proven track record in driving business fundamentals that include client leadership, business development, financial oversight, design quality, and project delivery.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Performs A/E project management duties, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for projects assigned, primarily on federal projects in the Southeast Region
Organize and direct activities between the technical and administrative aspects of assigned projects including scheduling, budgeting, cost control, cash flow, QA/QC, risk analysis, document control and management information systems
Successfully deliver projects within the clients budget and schedule requirements, while delivering targeted profit to the firm
Travel to client sites for project investigations, definition workshops, charrettes and project meetings
Furnish all information via SOW, sketches, layouts, and verbal or written information needed by the design team to understand the requirements
Advocates for design excellence and quality in all project deliverables; works proactively with federal clients to identify expectations and achieve Very Good to Exceptional CPARS ratings
Applies a practical knowledge of architectural and engineering methods, techniques and historical project data to ensure project requirements are complete
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree plus four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Registered Architect or Engineer
US citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning or applicable field
Minimum of 10 years of related experience
5+ years of Federal experience; NAVFAC, USACE, or USAF (DoD) experience
Project management experience specific to Architectural & Engineering (A/E) services
Experience with Building Information Modeling (Revit), Bluebeam, and AutoCAD
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products
Excellent communication skills including graphic, verbal and written between project team, clients, vendors, and contractors
LEED accreditation or other accepted Green Rating System and sustainable project experience
Project Management Professional certification (PMP)
