Purpose and Objective: 

 

SAP America, Inc. seeks an Expert Support Engineer at our Newtown Square, PA location and client sites nationwide to serve as a member of the Global Center of Expertise, a division of SAPs Digital Business Services Delivery unit, to deliver world-class services to support SAPs premium-level customers under the umbrella of MaxAttention, Active Embedded, and Enterprise Support customers.

 

Expectations and Tasks:

 

Provide a meticulous, strategic service to SAPs largest customers operating on the most complex SAP landscapes. Interact with individuals at every level of the customers organization, from low-level managers to executives, in order to meet the customers needs. Responsible for planning, architecting, analyzing, optimizing, and safeguarding our customers SAP solutions. Provide essential services and mission critical support to help SAP customers realize their digital transformation agenda and ensure business continuity during solution implementations, oversee the smooth operation of SAP software and the optimal technical performance of all business processes. Identify product gaps, develop solutions to close gaps, and implement specific best practice operations scenarios based on SAP standards to help customers minimize the total cost of ownership of their solution. Work with cutting edge technologies within the SAP Business Suite, SAP NetWeaver software solutions, and Cloud based applications and drive the development of necessary supportability features and support offerings. Proactively engage our Premium Engagement and Enterprise Support customers using a holistic approach to analyze, understand, and define action plans for each ones specific situation. Support our customers to increase the value of their SAP Solution by analyzing their system landscape and technical issues, their core business processes for all applications, and their system and application operation. As part of a global team, provide feedback to SAP Development and the Global Support Centers based on customer interactions to identify the appropriate solutions for our customers. Work closely with our development organization to guide improvements on business process efficiency and develop specific best practice operations scenarios for new technologies. Work with SAP Back Office and Mission Critical Support to resolve production down situations and manage escalations, report product issues to development organizations, and provide functional/technical expertise in escalation war rooms to ensure customer satisfaction and success, secure maintenance revenue, and protect the SAP brand. Develop concepts for innovations and best practices, create training material, and transfer knowledge to internal teams, while having the opportunity to work on the cutting-edge of digital innovation with a variety of SAP products, including the latest in technologies in machine learning, big data, blockchain, and IoT. 30% travel required to client sites nationwide.


Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 7 years of experience required. Will accept a Master's degree and 5 years of experience.

 

Work Experience:

 

Experience must involve 5 years in the following: SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) solutions; SAP Integrated Business Planning (SAP IBP); Development of IBP extensions, L-codes; - SAP ERP, S/4HANA; ABAP Programming and Performance analysis;
-Critical customer management and root cause analysis of complex technical issues in SAP solutions; Delivering end-to-end solution assessments for identifying the design matches best practices; Delivering integration validation to ensure solutions meet  standards of data consistency and performance.
