**Key Job Responsibilities** As the Executive Director Brawerman Institute, Nursing Education, Innovation, Performance Improvement, and Research you would be responsible for the daily coordination of nursing administration, clinical practice, human resource management, fiscal accountability, productivity, and regulatory compliance. This job will exhibit leadership, humanism and professionalism in the management within the department. This job demonstrates motivation and creativity and serves as a catalyst for effective changes within Nursing at the system and department level. Additionally, you'll oversee nursing staff in the provision of nursing care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care/Practice, The Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, The Plan for Provision of Patient Care, CSMC Code of Conduct, The Performance Improvement Plan, The Patient Education Plan and Professional Organization Standards. In this role you will be responsible for assuring staff competency in identifying the ability of the child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients to follow direction/instruction and give consent. Assures that staff can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment; provide appropriate assessment, intervention, care planning and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones in the neonate, infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population. You will be responsible for ongoing leadership development for all nurses, with a focus on mentoring and succession planning. In this role you will be responsible for the advancement of innovation in nursing and nursing research and supporting nurses in the dissemination of innovation and nursing research findings to internal and external audiences. As the inaugural holder of the Simms/Mann Endowed Chair in Nursing Leadership, this position will be expected to push the frontiers of elevating nurses, their visibility, and their value throughout Cedars-Sinai. The endowed chair will serve as a facilitator of others' work, a thought leader, and an engaged and intellectually engaging colleague. The endowed chair will advance the discovery, organization, transmission and/or application of knowledge to focus on leadership development for all nurses. **Primary Duties and Responsibilities** + Identifies and understands trends and forces that shape the health care delivery system, the provision of care, and other emerging issues in health care. + Assesses market opportunities, develops business plans and implements programs to respond to such opportunities. + Executes fiscal management capabilities including effective expense reduction, utilization management, budget control and new revenue generation. + Exercises leadership and sound decision-making in maximizing the use of CSMC s financial resources, in meeting the organizations financial goals, and in planning to maintain and/or improve CSMC s future financial performance. + Leads the design and organization of work, and allocation of resources to achieve appropriate staffing levels and mix, and productivity levels. + Maintains positive relationships with peers, superiors, members of the medical staff, board of directors, and community. + Establishes systems for appropriate management controls in all areas of responsibility. Ensures organizational compliance with legal and regulatory standards, internal policies and procedures, moral and ethical codes. Actively supports workforce diversity and take initiative to attain Affirmative Action Plan objectives. + Contributes to the development of strategic and operational plans, programs and policies of CSMC. Develop and implement measurable objectives consistent with the organization's mission, goals and timetables. Adjusts to meet changing conditions. Organizes work to ensure timely, effective and economic use of resources. Develops ways to measure progress, evaluate results, and take corrective action in a timely manner. + Promotes the delivery of quality nursing care for areas of responsibility including development, implementation and reporting of staffing effectiveness. + Ensures efficient and effective utilization of personnel resources to provide nursing care within the confines of AB 394. + Ensures patient satisfaction, provides feedback to staff regarding positive and negative patient comments and participating in customer satisfaction initiatives. + Makes patient-centered rounds promoting safe, quality patient care and contributing to customer relations. **Work Experience:** + A minimum of five years clinical experience required. + A minimum of five years administrative experience required. **Education:** Masters Degree in healthcare field required; Doctorate Degree preferred. **Licensure/Certifications:** + California State RN License + BLS Certification + Healthcare Compliance (CHC) + Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) Cedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
