Tenet Healthcare has an immediate opening for an Ethics Advisor to join our Compliance department. The Ethics Advisor role exists to comply with Compliance, Human Resources, Administration Policy and Procedures and local, state, and federal laws. The Ethics Advisor will assist in the response to the Ethics Action Hot Line, which provides a confidential and objective point of contact for inquiries and complaints from Tenet employees, physicians, and others about a variety of business conduct and related issues. Inquiries are triaged, assigned, and investigated in coordination to ensure an objective and fair resolution. The potential impact of mishandling these inquiries/investigations is significant in terms of the reputation of the Company and how individuals may be affected, with litigation being a possibility in some situations.

Please note: currently, Tenet Healthcare offices are located in downtown Dallas but will be moving to the Addison / Farmers Branch area in approximately six months.

Qualifications:
Education: Baccalaureate Degree desired; or, 3-5 years experience in corporate or similar environment.

Experience: Advising or counseling people, working in a large organization; human resources experience is helpful.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required for effectively handling extended telephone conversations with Ethics Action Line callers. Also, the ideal candidate must be able to effectively facilitate problem resolution with other departments and functions.
  • Excellent written communication skills are required in order to effectively and accurately summarize the information from the EAL calls into a factual and actionable report.
  • Analytical mind to prioritize concerns, obtain and organize data, and develop the proper approach to ensure resolution.
  • Mature judgment to convey the proper demeanor to those reporting alleged concerns, and to determine the appropriate strategy for inquiry and resolution.
  • Interpersonal relations to include empathy, patience, and good listening skills to establish rapport with the complainant.
  • Organizational talent to cope with fast-paced work environment which is often dealing with customers (Employees, Patients, A-Team Members, HR Leaders, Compliance Officers and Regional Management) who are stressed out, anxious, sometimes rude, and may hold false expectations about resolution of their problems.
