As the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Lead, you will report to the Director of HR Shared Services and will work closely with the Talent Acquisition team, Learning and Development Team and HR Consultants. In addition, partnering closely with our Business Resource Group leaders and CSR, you will implement Capital Ones diversity and inclusion strategy ensuring we meet our regulatory obligations. You'll also proactively participate in our ongoing wider organisational cultural programmes.

Diversity & Inclusion

  • Partner with the Accountable Executive for D&I ensuring the right infrastructure and governance is in place organisationally to implement Capital Ones diversity and inclusion strategy.
  • Support in crafting and implementing the D&I strategy
  • Partner with key HR Partners and CSR to develop, review and implement our diversity strategy communications plan as well as monitor and report on progress to senior leadership.
  • Assist in developing, updating, and facilitating material to instruct employees and people leaders on how to best include, empower and inspire associates accommodating and appreciating individual differences and leveraging those differences to benefit the company.
  • Assist in embedding diversity awareness and inclusive practices into people programs and policies to mitigate bias using data-driven approaches.
  • Support the ongoing coordination of associate-led Business Resource Groups (BRGs) to ensure sustainability, growth, evolution in maturity and recognition of involvement.
  • Proactively build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across a range of levels, business functions and geographies to ensure alignment and consistency across our businesses.
  • Curate and lead the calendar of annual events of key diversity dates, collaborating with key partners where appropriate.

Diversity & Inclusion Compliance

  • Manage reporting requirements to demonstrate progress against diversity strategy and D&I-related measures.
  • Partner with the Internal Communications Team, Learning & Development Team, Talent Acquisition, HR Shared Services, Compensation Team, and HR Consultants to analyse data, identify trends and manage the development, implementation and monitoring D&I reports, programs, and plans.
  • Analyse and prepare reports (i.e Women in Finance Charter, Gender Pay), presentations, briefing notes on an ongoing or ad hoc basis, as required.
  • Influence policy and practice based on intelligence gathered from Associates, best practice guidance, data and legal developments.
  • Maintain current knowledge and materials related to laws, rules, regulations, and best practices for advancing employment equity, and monitor legal developments in this area.
  • Serve as the primary UK contact with the enterprise Diversity team; recommend, monitor, and advocate for enhancements that enable the improved collection and housing of necessary data.

Skills Needed:

  • Demonstrated competence in leveraging HR analytics to provide evidence-based guidance and advice
  • Familiarity with human resources principles and practices
  • Superior communicator with the ability to foster relationships at all levels and promote cooperation and work collaboratively within and across all sites while promoting an inclusive work environment
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Workforce Data and Analysis

Basic Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in designing and implementing diversity and inclusion programs
  • Significant experience working across all equality characteristics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree/CIPD or equivalent
  • A degree in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Experience in Human Resources, with several years performing diversity and inclusion work
