Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Practitioner and Deputy Project Manager who will support client opportunities and growth in the High Tech sector. This position will be attached to our Pacific region, which includes California, Oregon, and Washington; however, the successful candidate will support High Tech portfolio development in the San Francisco Bay Area. The position will require working directly with clients and technical staff to deliver best in class services, therefore excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and manage highly functioning teams are key attributes for the successful candidate.

The location of this position is preferred San Jose or Sunnyvale.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support a program of environmental, health, and safety services at client facilities.

  • Providing reports of work sites inspections and review documentation to evaluate environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance.

  • Provide on-site EHS compliance support at client facilities.

  • Ensure quality standards on project deliverables.

  • Support Project Managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.

  • Develop and implement EHS compliance assurance programs including procedures, plans, permit applications, training, and reports.

  • Provide training, coaching, and assessment for performance improvement projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering or related field with 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Experience working within consulting, manufacturing or governmental agency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to pursue certification in field: CIH, CHMM, CSP, CPEA, PE or similar registration highly desirable.

  • Experience performing, reviewing, and developing environmental, health and safety compliance programs, monitoring and auditing programs in a variety of industrial, commercial, and manufacturing settings.

  • Experience preparing technical sections and coordinate environmental documents for a wide variety of projects, including water, energy, infrastructure, and natural resources, as well as urban, infill, and mixed-use development projects and greenfield projects.

  • Experience working with federal, state and local environmental and safety rules and regulations.
