The Electrical Shift Operations team is a 24/7 organization that has primary responsibility for the following activities of all electrical related equipment in support of a large semiconductor manufacturing facility:

\tResponds to alarms and performs troubleshooting and equipment recovery
\tPerform rounds to ensure the health of the equipment and cleanliness of the facility
\tEnsures configuration control of all electrical equipment and devices, including the planning for and performance of all load switching procedures
\tExecutes incident response/recovery procedures in the case of power loss / excursion
\tControl Access to areas/equipment belonging to the Facilities Electrical Department
\tCommunicate important and relevant information to interested and affected parties through passdown
\tPerforms routine preventive maintenance activities and inspections

The shift position is part of a team of electricians that responds to requests for electrical device operation, 5S and urgent repair needs, maintenance work order requests, room access requests and other support needs via radio to support the fab and other infra teams to troubleshoot and keep the electrical distribution system up and running 24/7.

This is a full time position. Employees assigned to a Compressed Work Week (CWW) schedules, designated D, work a 12-hour shift, either three or four days per week depending on the shift rotation. The CWW shift begins 18:00pm and ends at 5:30 am each scheduled day.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain Predictive Maintenance schedule on electrical infrastructure and perform corrective maintenance as needed.
  • QAQC and commissioning of electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, bus plugs, busways, transformers, switchgears and panels under the lead of a Journeyman.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects or the need for adjustment and repair, and to ensure compliance with NEC and job site specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, roofs, inside cleanrooms, high noise areas or hot environments to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Install electrical services ranging from 480 volts ac to 24 volts dc.
  • Use CMMS to track repairs, parts inventory, and preventive maintenance.
  • Able to work well in team environment, mentoring/training others, and effectively communicate throughout the organization (engineers, technicians, management, customers).
  • Troubleshooting: Responds to equipment and system failures and utilizes structured problem solving and troubleshooting techniques to make necessary adjustments to return normal operational status.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; with some college or trade school preferred, apprentice work/study program is a positive.
  • Exposure to industrial or commercial electrical power systems.
  • Strong knowledge of the NEC 70E code as it applies to industrial installations.
