***This position is located in Kansas City, MO***

This position will participate in the development of methods, processes, or procedures that drive improvements in productivity and quality.  The individual is expected to exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments.  They will perform technical support for functions and projects to achieve quality, delivery schedules, and cost objectives.   Project successes will rely on technician support defining and recommending new designs, design changes, and alternate designs of instruments, and test equipment, and orders tooling, gauging, and equipment necessary to assure product quality.  Technician will apply, develop, and recommend innovative methodologies and technologies which are equal to the industry's state of the art to resolve processing and design problems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds prototypes/units and testing equipment, assisting with equipment setup, establishing equipment and experiment operations and procedures 
  • Conducts tests/experiments monitoring and measuring product, gathers data, records laboratory notes and other pertinent details
  • Create product definitions using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools

    You Must Have:

    • Two-year technical degree or equivalent.
    • US citizenship, needed to obtain and maintain required Dept of Energy \"Q\" level security clearance or equivalent and SCI access.
    • Two (2) years' experience in a related technical role, to include use and strong understanding of welding tools and processes.

      We Value:

      • Knowledge of how to use engineering tools to take measurements and conduct functional tests.
      • Prior industry experience with welding tools and manufacturing processes.
      • Work both independently and in a team setting.
      • Competence with product drawings and design creation/implementation using various welding and machining techniques
      • Basic knowledge and understanding of Computer aided Design (CAD) tools and Geometric Positioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
      • Drive to learn other mechanical and/or electrical assembly and testing processes
      • Ability to perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision
