  • Conducts tests, sets up and operates equipment, experiments that involves processing chemicals and completing chemical orders; this can range from complicated processing requests to a simple job
  • Work is received, prioritized, and then processed
  • Engineering technicians follow detailed work instructions for chemical processing, record processing parameters, gathers data, package material and document release of material to storeroom
  • Candidate must possess the ability to make judgement decision based on training/experience level when situation requires immediate action, with the caveat that the process stops at the €œsafe€ condition
  • Ensure all materials are available to complete production batches prior to start
  • Provides technical guidance and training to other technicians
  • Works in accordance with general objectives, improving and refining devices and methods, as necessary
  • The candidate will be expected to utilize the manufacturing processes for Chemical production
  • Candidate will work in conjunction with the engineering team and document the process via work instructions
  • The position may require safety and PPE awareness, hazardous chemical handling and processing, following detailed work instructions, documenting process parameters and quality measurements of process using specifications and product drawings to pinpoint problems.
  • Monitor Chemical Processes
  • Assist engineers and other technicians with a variety of day-to-day recurring tasks.
  • Prepare Chemical solutions
  • Lead or participate in developing methods, process steps, or procedures which improve productivity and quality
  • Accept and analyze processes with continuous improvement being considered
  • Capable and willing to work in environments and situations that require the use of PPE including SAR and Chemical Protective Clothing
  • Troubleshoot development and production products and processes

    You Must Have:

    • 2+ years experience in a related technical role
    • Formal training or practical experience equivalent to technical knowledge obtained in military training courses or through a two or four year technical degree
    • Some positions within this classification may require unique electrical, mechanical, and/or electronic skills and abilities
    • US citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept. of Energy \"\"Q\"\"-level security clearance

      We Value:

      • Experience using tools such as ERP knowledge and Chemical processing experience
      • Experience using MS Office Suite desktop applications, such as, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
      • Two (2) or more years€™ experience working in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
      • Must be an effective communicator, have excellent people skills and have the ability to inspire others to do a good job
      • Experience interpreting technical drawings and documents
      • Experience writing and executing factory work instructions
      • Effective verbal, written and presentation skills
      • Familiarity with six sigma tools and processes
      • Experience as a process operator a plus
      • Ability to interface effectively with support organizations and internal customers and exercise judgment to determine appropriate action
      • Ability to plan and organize, demonstrate excellent time management and support several projects at once
      • Ability to work under minimal supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making
      • Willingness to travel occasionally
