Summary of Duties:
This highly visible role is for multiple Engineering Technician III positions in our Analytical Sciences Laboratories
Engineering Technician Analytical Labs will perform duties supporting Laboratory sample preparations, testing and analysis
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for assisting experienced Scientists, Engineers and Technicians with a variety of day-to-day laboratory activities
This position follows defined procedures and processes using various advanced testing instrumentation in order to complete tasks
Sample preparation and testing is primarily in support of production and new development operations
Requires the ability to work independently at a high level, as well as on teams, to complete special projects, perform testing and equipment repairs
Improves and refines existing fixtures, devices, methods, process steps or procedures, implementing changes as necessary
Possesses a willingness to work either as an independent investigator or as a member of a multidisciplinary cross-functional team, depending on the nature of the situation
The ability to generate accurate and precise analytical data, interpret data, prepare formal reports and make formal presentations of results, conclusions and recommendations is required
The successful candidate will have a strong customer service focus, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers who have limited knowledge of Analytical Laboratory processes and technologies
Some positions will be off-hour shifts after initial training
You Must Have:
U.S. Citizenship required in order to obtain and maintain US DOE \"\"Q\"\"-level security clearance
Two or four-year technical degree or equivalent practical experience
Equivalency will be considered to be four or more years of combined formal/military training and practical experience, to include at least two years training/experience in a laboratory/test environment or instrumentation
Two (2) or more years of experience in a related technical/technician role
