SUMMARY: Embraces and executes the Company Core Values. Actively supports the Companys vision and goals. Anticipate needs of the external and internal customer as well as provide outstanding customer service to meet their needs. As department liaison, coordinate workflow and provide customer technical support. Ensure all safety precautions are implemented and maintained. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following; other duties will be assigned in a progressive manner.

o Assignment of work to members of the electrical engineering team via the Ejob system.

o Closely monitoring the progress of approved programs and re-aligning resources as appropriate to maintain project deliverables.

o Electrical product development project management.

o Monitoring progress of development projects and aligning resources as appropriate to achieve project deliverables.

o Interface with electronics contract manufacturers to ensure uninterrupted production of PCBAs.

o Support internal electronics production processes to ensure production volumes and quality standards are achieved.

o Coordinate engineering resources to support internal and external customer needs.

o Engineering department policy determinations.

o Training of new engineering department team members.

o Participate in performance evaluations of the electrical engineering team.

o Knowledge of industry standard failure analysis tools.

o Develops technical solutions and manages design quality, cost, and timing to meet program milestones.

o Broad scope of responsibilities includes components and systems.

o Responsible for working cohesively with a group of engineers responsible for similar products on other applications, actively engaging in team issue resolution.

o Capable of managing very broad or numerous projects with high degree of difficulty.

o Exercises independent judgment, with minimal input from supervisor.

o Directs the design, analysis, release, and test of parts and/or subsystems for production.

o Provides feedback to management (i.e. progress to timing, evaluation of test results).

o Releases component designs and manages change control for design responsible components.

o Demonstrates that designs meet requirements through analysis, development and validation processes.

o Analyzes design through design failure modes effects analysis.

o Ensure qualification plans and procedures are review for fixture and equipment requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has supervisory responsibilities. Directly supervises - team members on the electrical team in the engineering department. The successful team member will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES: In daily work, a team member is responsible to maintain or exceed the degree of excellence requested by the internal and external customers of this department. This includes following established policies, following ISO 9001 & 14001 policies, business practices, continual improvement, work 

instructions, using problem-solving techniques to solve root causes of problems, and viewing quality as customer satisfaction. Shaw Development expects all team members to take pride in their work, in our company and appearance.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.

Experience required: 

o Managing electronics hardware and software development teams.

o Developing mixed signal embedded systems.

o Generating electronics designs using Altium Designer.

o Experience developing in C, C#, and Python programming languages.

o Embedded system board bring-up, debugging and HIL testing.

o Administrating software engineering infrastructure.

o Maintaining git repositories and workflows (Bitbucket), maintaining and delegating feature and bug ticketing (JIRA)

o Working knowledge of electronics hardware design EMI/EMC best practices 

o Working knowledge of ISO/SAE automotive electrical standards (ISO7637, ISO16750, ISO11452, SAEJ1113, CISPR25, J1939)
