POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of X-ray Technologies, the Engineering Summer Intern will assist the Engineering team with multiple projects, testing and CAD documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES: •Perform lab testing of products in development related to new designs. oPressure and burst testing. oMechanical materials characterization and bond strength using an Instron Mechanical Test System. oFitting characterization for connection force and reliability. •CAD documentation of process equipment/product configuration. •Assist with verification and validation testing. •Assist with life testing during product development, related to x-ray source operational life.

•Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering. Other degrees related may be considered. •Abilities to effectively coordinate multiple tasks, and establish effective interfaces with others within the organization are required. •Experience or knowledge in CAD, SolidWorks required, mechanical strength testing, materials properties, specifically plastics and mechanical design skills would be an asset. •Ability to use and interpret drawings and complete documentation is important.
