**Position Description**

We are seeking internship candidates with human factors,
interaction/visual design, and/or industrial design background for our Cardiac
Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) Human Factors group located in Mounds View, MN.
This internship is a temporary position and will cover a period of 12 months,
with a start date of June 2020. Interns work with senior human factors staff
members as team members on projects both on-site and in clinical field


1. Supportuser-centered design activities such as customer needs identification, userprofiles definition, task analysis, user interface design, use error analysis,usability testing, and post-launch outcomes analysis.

2. Participatein user interface design and prototyping activities for products underdevelopment.

3. Helpgenerate sketches and rendered design illustrations for presentation of designconcepts.

4. Helpdesign and conduct field studies of end users, their tasks, and useenvironments, to support product definition, concept development, and detaileddesign.

5. Helpdesign and conduct usability assessments of products under development. Assistin the analysis and reporting of test results.

6. Assistin analysis to determine potential causes of and mitigations for use errors inproducts being developed.

7. Supportmeetings and visits with internal field personnel and external customers.

**Basic Qualifications**

1. Currentlypursuing a degree in a design-related discipline (Human Factors, Ergonomics,Design, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Biomedical engineering, orequivalent) and intending to return to school after the internship.

2. Intendingto return to school after your internship.

3. Experiencedesigning and conducting usability studies and/or field research.

4. Ableto relocate to Minneapolis for 12 months, starting in June 2020.

5. Legallyauthorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.

**Preferred Qualifications**

1. Currentlypursuing an advanced degree.

2. Knowledgeof usability and user interface design methodologies and principles.

3. Experiencedesigning for web, mobile, and desktop apps.

4. Workingknowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, Axure, Balsamiq, Visio or similar toolsfor generating prototypes.

5. Abilityto do sketches and computer rendering.

6. Abilityto execute task design concepts and ideas in 2-D or 3-D and integrate form andfunction into product designs.

7. Generalknowledge of statistics and statistical data analysis techniques andtools.

8. Goodoral and written communication skills.

9. Willingnessto travel (up to 10% of time).

10. Opennessto learn applied human factors and interest in medical devices domain.
