**External Job Description:**


Performs liaison services for the A1B Propulsion Plant Planning Yard (PPPY), working closely with the FORD Class Reactor Department personnel.

The responsibilities are proactive and engaged shipboard when practical.


A persistent presence provides a critical interface to address evolving issues, to facilitate efficient maintenance performance, to address emergent issues, to recommend process improvements, and to identify potential technical changes.


Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

Preferred Qualifications


1. Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of naval nuclear propulsion plant principles of operation, maintenance, and support.

2. A1B/A4W propulsion plant operating experience a plus.

3. Strong interpersonal communication skills are required to work with Ships Force, Naval Reactors, the Type Commander, and Naval Nuclear Laboratory.

4. Navy senior leadership experience desired E7 or above, and ideally previously demonstrated experience in the supervision, operation, and maintenance of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Systems.
