Employee Communications Rep/ Principal Employee Communications Rep

Northrop Grumman
Redondo Beach, CA 90277
Embark on a career putting innovative, reliable, and agile products and ideas into orbit, and beyond. Northrop Grumman has opportunities waiting for you that play a vital role in human space exploration, national defense, and scientific discovery, supporting multiple programs across the universe. With us, you'll discover a culture of curiosity and collaboration that will have you Defining Possible from the day you start. Our space systems connect and protect millions of people on earth every day, now and for the future. Explore your future and launch your career today.
The Communications function at Northrop Grumman's historic Space Park campus in Redondo Beach, CA is looking for an Internal Communications Lead who thinks outside the "lets send an e-mail" box and thrives on the challenge of telling compelling stories to targeted groups of employees.
You'll work with a cross-functional team to create strategic, omni-channel communications plans that help all our business functions - i.e. Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, etc. - inform and engage a demographically and geographically diverse workforce, some of whom are unusually difficult to reach.
The ideal candidate for this role is familiar with -- and comfortable creating content for -- all modern communications channels, both traditional and non-traditional.
Put another way, if you can lead the creation of a Tik Tok-style series of entertaining, engaging 10-second videos to remind employees of upcoming benefits enrollment deadlines and also write a clear, concise mass e-mail message on the same topic, you should apply for this job.
If you can do all that AND create an audience segmentation plan based on employee demographics that makes targeting recommendations based on which groups are likely to respond best to each type of message, all the better.
**More about you:**

+ You're creative, tech-savvy, and fascinated by the latest communications tools and technologies.
+ You love people, and you're good at identifying their needs.
+ You have excellent writing skills and are passionate about telling compelling stories with words, photos, videos, podcasts and graphics.
+ You live by prioritization and organization, and possess a borderline-annoying attention to detail.
+ You have event planning and management experience.
+ You're positive, poised and approachable, able to work independently and in partnership with senior executives/employees, and confident in offering communications counsel to business partners.
+ You thrive in fast-paced, action-oriented environments and are able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, reprioritize quickly and meet deadlines.
+ You have a demonstrated understanding of communications and global topics, priorities and trends.
+ You're maybe a little bit (or a lot bit) of a nerd, and you love all things related to space exploration and science.

**More about the job:**

+ You'll support our efforts to promote and publicize the company's culture, people, products and performance to employees - current and future.
+ You'll lead and support planning, implementation and evaluation of various employee-focused functional and leadership communications strategies and tactics in support of the organization's goals.
+ You'll write, edit and distribute strategic and timely business announcements, news items, creative articles and videos.
+ You'll be a storyteller while conceptualizing, procuring and producing a diverse array of editorial content about our people, technologies, successes and capabilities via articles, interviews, Q&As, brief/catchy lists, infographics, videos, animations, and photo/caption features. Ideally, you'll bring some new ideas and formats we haven't tried or thought of yet.
+ You'll support internal event planning, including conferences, webcasts and site visits.
+ You'll ensure all communications strategies and tactics are consistent with the company's strategic vision and reflect the Northrop Grumman brand.
