Mission Health boasts a progressive, innovative and highly advanced EMS system that encompasses three rural -county 911 EMS units, an in-house Air Medical team, robust and growing Regional Transport Services, Behavioral Transport Services, Telecommunications, Regional Disaster Preparedness and Disaster Relief in addition to six Emergency Departments serving 19 counties in Western North Carolina. We partner with AB-Tech to host the UMBC EMTPCC program as well as provide various pathways to leadership development and educational opportunities for our valuable staff.

 

About Regional Transport Services at Mission Health:

 

Our Regional Transport Services at Mission Health complete 25,000 inter-facility ground transports and discharges per year while managing over 150 true Critical Care Transports annually. Our flexible schedule and educational reimbursement program make this a valuable opportunity to grow in our highly advanced EMS system!  Our RTS Critical Care Teams consists of one EMT, one Paramedic and one Critical Care Paramedic for mobile ICU support. Our state-of-the-art Rescue Promedic ambulances carry Zoll X-series Monitors, Alaris IV pumps, Ferno iNX Stretchers and Newport HT-70 ventilators that are just part of our cutting-edge ambulatory ICU environment. In RTS, we pride ourselves on our progressive care models and strategic planning for future growth as we lead the way in our industry.  As part of our commitment to best practice in patient-centered care and ensuring quality outcomes for our patients and their families, Mission RTS also operates a specialized Behavioral Health Transport unit and a Community CaraMedic program.  

 

Job Summary: Performs and assists with general basic life support patient care. Assumes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of emergency vehicles.

 

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

 

Preferred Education: None

 

Required License: North Carolina EMT certification, North Carolina drivers license and must meet insurance guidelines, completes and maintains continuing education or recertification class as required by NC OEMS. Must have a valid NC driver's license or procure one within 30 days of employment unless an out-of-state commuter, at least two years of satisfactory driving experience and be at least 25 years of age to meet the Mission Health established insurance guidelines.

 

Preferred Experience: Two years of full time active pre-hospital care or equivalent and emergency vehicle driving
