  • The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) provides basic direct and indirect patient care as delegated and directed by the professional staff
  • This is accomplished through the job components of patient services, role modeling, quality/resource stewardship and patient advocacy/customer service

Education

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Graduate of Emergency Medical Technician Program

Qualification/Skills

Skills

  • The ability to establish effective relationships with health care team members
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated self-directness
  • Must have customer service experience
  • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred (within the last 3 years). If not current within the last 6 months, we will provide refresher education
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • Strong English skills in reading, writing, verbal comprehension and expression

Licensure/Certifications

  • Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMSRB)
  • BLS certification required
