Job Description:

As an Electronics Technician 2, you will work closely with personnel from the following departments: Engineering, QA, Manufacturing Engineering, Test, Program Management, and Manufacturing in a dynamic, fast paced environment.  This position supports the Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division, which specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems using small company agility and big company experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all duties required to fabricate, lay out, and install electrical wiring and coaxial cables on aircraft and support equipment
    • Tasks required for cable harness fabrication include cutting wire to length; stripping insulation from wire ends; soldering, crimping, and potting connectors; installation of shielding, braided sleeving, and heat shrink
    • Assembles electrical systems in a FOD and ESD sensitive environment
      • Assembles items such as avionics, test boxes, test fixtures, Ground Control Stations, etc.
      • Uses schematics, drawings, and written processes to check, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems for conformance to specifications; performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring and/or CCAs as necessary
      • Other duties as required


        • U.S. citizen
        • Able to obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI clearance
        • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or 2 year post-secondary / Associates Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
        • 3+ years of related experience
        • Experience performing all tasks required in the fabrication of cable harnesses including potting, installation of expandable sleeving and shielding, crimping with various crimp tools and positioners, working with conformal coating, etc
        • Experience troubleshooting CCAs to the component level and performing necessary repairs
        • Experience hand soldering components to CCAs, including under a scope
        • Proficient with various tools and electronics test equipment including: soldering irons, a variety of crimp tools and positioners, multi-meters, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc
        • Ability to read and understand drawings, procedures, and/or schedules.
        • Knowledge and understanding of product quality processes
        • Ability to accurately complete all required paperwork.
        • Ability to safely complete all physical activities required in a manufacturing environment including, but not limited to:
          • Lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying 25-50 pounds on a regular basis.
          • Walking, bending, sitting, standing, climbing, and reaching for prolonged periods of time on a regular basis.
          • Ability to seize, grasp, turn, hold, and operate manufacturing tools and equipment.
          • Willingness and ability to work in a  manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, and loud noises.
          • Prior experience with Microsoft Office products

            Preferred Additional Skills:

            • Avionics A&P is desired but not required

            • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
