Job Description

Tunista Services is seeking an Electrical Operations Supin anticipation of award of contract.

The Electrical Plant Operations Supervisor is accountable for all electrical equipment, motors, and controls which are a part of the central heating and cooling plants electrical operations, production, and performance, through planning, coordinating, and evaluating the activities of the plants and subordinate employees. The Electrical Operations Supervisor is accountable to meet production quality and safety standards throughout the facility, as well as delivering on key performance indicators.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide maintenance and/or repair of the Government furnished heating and cooling plants, including associated equipment.
Ensure electrical work is in compliance with the National Electric Code
Ensure Plumbing work is in compliance with the National Standard Plumbing Code
Maintain all boilers and chillers not in use in a ready condition
Handle all fuels, lubricating oils, chemicals, auxiliary machinery for boilers
Attend all boiler fires to maintain steam pressure as required; and controlling operation of chillers and cooling towers.
Ensure daily and more frequent checks and operating services on all heating and cooling plant machinery and equipment
Coordinate and schedule inspections of all high pressure and HTW boilers in accordance with AR 420-1, Army Facilities Management, and the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
Ensure that boiler water levels are maintained at the levels for safe and efficient operation.
Maintain boilers in the maximum efficiency range by observing and controlling condition of fire to carry lowest possible oxygen with lowest possible stack temperature without smoke pollution to the atmosphere.
Maintain a minimum plant efficiency of 79% in each plant.
Treat boiler, chiller, and distribution system water in accordance with Bureau of Mines specifications, current industry standards and manufacturers recommendations to control corrosion and scale formation
Ensure plant logs are maintained for each shift, noting plant deficiencies and difficulties with equipment, to include any PM performed, or any changes made to the operation
Ensure PM is performed for all heating and cooling plants and associated facilities and system components
Repair heating systems; steam distribution and return lines; HTW distribution systems; Government owned and operated gasoline and diesel storage tanks, pumps, and dispensing systems; natural gas lines; liquid petroleum storage tanks and lines; chilled water lines; gas regulators; and gas and British Thermal Unit meters and valves.
Oversees staffing and development of all operations and maintenance staff
Ensures safe operations and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
Ensures that project milestones and goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
Resolve production problems and implement solutions in an effective and timely manner
Ensure appropriate employee management, including controlling of staffing, scheduling, employee development and performance management
Implement and manage continuous improvement initiatives and activities
Implement and analyze plant performance metrics through reports including direct labor efficiency, productivity, absenteeism, inventory and backlog
Sets expectations, provides recourses, audits performance, counsels employees, trains, and sets policies and practices to exceed department goals
Leads team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual performance goals
Implement ensure operations metrics are well known; tracks daily progress towards achieving objectives and mitigating risks
Assist with managing of daily project reporting including: timekeeping; environmental and permit compliance; daily reports
Implements company policies such as attendance, overtime, safety, environmental, etc., and directs the application of such policies to the product group's operation
Maintains effective communication with government leadership, customers, and project participants
Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires supervision of subordinate workforce

Job Requirements

Ability to interpret and communicate project plans and drawings
Adequate knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software, scheduling software, job costing software and word processing software
Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma
Five years experience in inspecting, repairing and managing heating and cooling plants
Georgia Secretary of State Licensing or equivalent
Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screening
