The Educational Specialist will work with Audiologist, Faculty, education team and staff to establish and schedule the care plan.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EJob Responsibilities:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EReviews and evaluates education records submitted for possible cochlear implant candidates.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EDiscuss with school personnel and family their readiness to receive an implanted child.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EDiscuss educational options, communication methodology and childs learning style.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EVisit the school to provide suggestions and strategies to facilitate the development of auditory and oral language skills.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EEstablish working relationship with the school and build positive and ongoing communication between the implant center and the school.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EProvides support to parents.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ERecommends appropriate placement and support services to include positive training workshops.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EDevelops professional workshops and training, to meet the needs of the professionals in public schools, where applicable.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EMaintain regular communication between implant center, patient (and their family), and the school professionals.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EMaintain a neat and orderly work area.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EWork as a functional member of the Cochlear Implant Team and Department.Attend staff meetings as requested.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EMaintain professional demeanor at all times with physicians, co-workers and patients. Responsible for any other duties as stipulated by an Executive Leadership member of the Department, including but not limited to the Department Chairman or the Department Administrator.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EEnsure service excellence by becoming familiar with the seven principles of behavior and putting them into practice in carrying out job responsibilities.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EHIPAA Conform to all applicable HIPAA compliance and safety guidelines.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EPerforms other duties as assigned.\u003C/li\u003E\u003C/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMinimum Qualifications:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003ETo qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003EMasters degree in Education.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003ETeacher of the Deaf.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EThree-five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAuditory Verbal background. Ability to meet deadlines.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EStrong organizational skills.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.\u003C/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003EAbility to work independently and takes initiative to assist in improving overall office operations.
