Job Description

Manufacturing Technicians perform functions associated with all wafer production including operations, equipments, process and training. Collects and evaluates operating data to conduct on-line equipment adjustment and ensure process optimization. Responsible for running lots in a qualitative way. Also, responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, spares, and sustaining. In addition, the Manufacturing Technician is responsible for improvement processes, troubleshooting nonstandard events in the production line, and reviewing technological health and stability. The Manufacturing Technician may be responsible for the buddy, trainer, and certifier levels and is in charge of updating training manuals. May participate in safety forums and Emergency Response Team as required. Work is somewhat complex and is performed within the spectrum ranging from narrowly defined parameters and limited judgment up to highly complex and nonstandard assignments in nature and broadly defined parameters. High degree of judgment and initiative is required in resolving complex nonstandard problems and developing recommendations. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new work.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be considered for this position. Relevant experience that meets the job requirements will be considered if obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

- The candidate must possess an Associates degree in a STEM or technical program (i.e Microelectronics, Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Electronic Engineering Technology or avionics repair), a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Biology or Military electronic/avionic technician training.

-Must be willing and able to perform the job in a physically demanding environment.  The candidate may be required to put on and wear a respirator (approx. 3x per shift) and use breathing air while working. The candidate is expected to use ladder during maintenance activities for larger tools. While working at top of the tools, the candidate may need to use fall protection (i.e. Full body harness and lanyard) 2 to 3 times per week.  Must be able to regularly bend or squat and kneel up and down while performing maintenance on tools and while working.  May require some work on the interior of some tools with confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge in electronics or digital circuitry.
  • Knowledge in end-user computer skills and navigation.
  • Knowledge in Schematic/wiring diagram reading.
  • Knowledge in electronic systems troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Proven abilities with Testing, repairing and troubleshooting faulty electronic equipment down to a component using available schematics, Technical data and test equipment.
  • Knowledge in Operations, mechanics, nuclear, weapons systems and field service.
  • Experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing fab in process, equipment, operations or assembly.
  • Must excel in a team environment and have a positive outlook
