HMC FACILITIES MANAGEMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a full time day shift 12-month fixed duration DRAFTING TECHNICIAN 2. The Drafting Technician 2 will prepare moderately complex scaled maps, detailed plans and working drawings from sketches, field notes, or general instructions; may lead other drafting technicians.

Duties performed at this level require the skills of journey-level drafting technicians with the additional responsibility for drafting assignments with a minimum of working data; may lead work of other drafting and clerical personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

Catalog, label, and package historical architectural drawing for scanning and archival storage working with Enterprise Records and Health Information team.

Receive from storage, organize, catalog and shelve all original equipment manufacturer (OEM) binders for on-campus library.

Prepare drawings to meet government and industrial contract requirements;

Prepare design detail and assembly drawings for use in construction of various equipment and buildings;

Prepare graphs, charts, and drafting displays for publication and engineering journals;

Draw schematics, wiring, or block diagrams from sketches, parts, and instructions;

Solve geometric design problems and produce working engineering drawings in the solution of various design problems; make design calculations;

Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering and building record drawing systems;

Research technical information from record vault files, engineering catalogues, and technical handbooks;

Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of full-time experience or training as a Drafting Technician I, or equivalent.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Examination Requirements:

A job element examination (including written, E & T and oral components) scored on the basis of job related experience, training, skill, ability and other elements which are established through job analysis.
