Star Line Mackinac Island Hydro-Jet Ferry is the largest Ferry company providing passenger and freight transportation to and from beautiful Mackinac Island. This position is located in scenic Northern Michigan and is a popular tourist and historical destination drawing visitors globally, with peak season during warmer months in addition to adventure seekers year-round.

Your Contributions to the Crew

Oversee, Schedule and support Training approximately 20 to 40 Dock Hands and Greeters.

Oversee the safe loading and unloading of Passengers.

Oversee and hands on of Valet of vehicles, baggage tagging and handling, loading of luggage, bikes and other items onto and off vessels.

Manage the dock to ensure timely departures and staying on schedule.

Welcome and assist guests in a professional and courteous manner

Greet customers, answer questions and anticipate their needs

Oversee and ensure all tickets are scanned and collected as customers board

Inform Customers and ensure safe behaviors

Aid Captain in accurate record keeping and counts

Maintaining Star Line standards of appearance and cleanliness

Oversee and hands on of Safely handling and tying of lines to moor vessels

Participate and apply procedural and safety training

Qualifications

Managerial experience

Customer service experience

Previous Dock experience

Proficient in various computer software and Microsoft products

Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull and lift items up to 65 pounds.

Pass background checks, drug & alcohol testing as mandated by US Coast Guard.

Available to work peak tourist times including nights, weekends & holidays
