DITA Architect / Training lead

Job Description

This person will be driving to transform the customer experience and the way customers consume content. You will help set the vision for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple products, BU's, and touchpoints. In addition, you will be attending meetings collaborating across BU's to help define the future of the customer experience. Identify opportunities to leverage the content to serve it up to our customer in multiple ways, the ChatBot, Debug guides, smaller more focused documents, experimenting in ways to leverage reuse and reduce to improve the customer experience and bring business value in all our customer experience. In addition, the person will help drive the customer experience in the training space as well. This person will work with subject matter experts to design or adapt coursework for online learning platforms. Work with IT to find ways to deliver customer training on the external-facing portals. Develop user guides, BKM's, and other instructional material that can be leveraged by our customers to improve their understanding of the requirements or material. Find ways to deliver short training videos online for customer consumption by working with IT to deliver those solutions. This person will also help support the technical writing needs for the US time zone as needed.

What you will own:

  • Improve the business impact of content
  • Engage w/ Product Marketing, and Technical Marketing teams as well as Subject matter experts
  • Communicate content strategy to Leadership, IT
  • Work directly with the technical publication lead to define the content structure of any given document types to improve findability, search and the customer experience
  • Help identify customer journeys, personas, competitor analysis, etc.
  • Implement strong search engine optimization (SEO) practices, interpret user research and site analytics, and conduct audits to inform content needs and develop recommendations based on analytics and user needs
  • Assess Localization requirements and optimize necessary workflows.
  • Review and provide strategic direction to info architecture related work.
  • Recommend $$ savings for product & content offerings
  • Identify automation opportunities
  • Future-proofing content to take advantage of new designs and platforms
  • Become the voice of DITA Tech Docs w/ the product teams
  • Think strategically about web content and how it can be used by the end-user
  • Convert the content architecture to a successful content Web experience.
  • Content audit and insights, metadata and Taxonomy framework definition, persona analysis, customer journey mapping,
  • Redesign courses for online presentation that are conducive to distance learning programs


  • 5 + years working in technical communications as an Info Architect, technical writer or other related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, online analytics, or related field.
  • DITA and XML authoring
  • Information architecture
  • Information mapping
  • 5 + years of experience in a content strategy or related role.
  • Technical writing experience
  • Hands-on experience using CMS tools for content publishing
  •  Self-motivated, strong sense of ownership, good teammate
  •  You're able to handle multiple tasks at once and work independently with minimal managerial mentorship.
  •  Strong team building skills.
  •  You will work across departments and with other teams
  •  Be open to continuous learning and committed to ongoing self-improvement.
