Location/Division Specific Information:

The Director, Business Planning Partner is part of the Laboratory Products Division for Laboratory Equipment (LE) which brings together a winning combination of innovation and customer focus. LE serves a wide range of market segments including life science, blood and tissue banking, cell culture, immunotherapy, food science, bioprocessing clinical, biopharmaceutical, and more. This position will be based ideally at our facility in Asheville, NC. Travel expectation will be between 25-50%, depending upon location. This will include both domestic and international.

How will you make an impact?

The Director, Supply Chain Planning, will improve the planning function across all operating groups, divisions and regions for LET. In this role, you will collaborate and help develop targeted improvement plans with for product availability, working capital optimization and productivity improvement and will follow-up until implementation is complete. You will be accountable for annual improvements in the company’s Product availability (LIFR/OTIF), Customer Allegiance Score (CAS) for Order Fulfillment and inventory days of supply (DOS).

What will you do?

  • Develop and apply a standard Sales, Operations, and Inventory Planning process across all factories and distribution centers
  • Establish an objective measurement of the usefulness of the demand plan, supply plan and order fulfillment processes.
  • Maintain plan attainment and schedule adherence metrics at >95%, maintain past due work order performance at <2%.
  • Establish an inventory health metric around gross to net ratio to support corporate DOS target.
  • Establish mechanisms to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive business results, including leading indicators which will serve as early warning signs of problem performance.
  • Work with IT and Procurement to identify and standardize around a core set of information system solutions and data analytics platforms.
  • Develop a talent acquisition strategy to continuously improve the planning function.
  • Develop an educational platform to develop employees in the planning function
How will you get here?
Education:

A Bachelorâ&#128;&#153;s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business management discipline or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred

Experience:
  • Relevant experience in the Life Science or Medical Device industry
  • 10+ years of relevant supply chain management experience, with at least 7 years of people management experience
  • Strong business acumen and problem solving capabilities, with direct, applied experience in planning.
  • Proven track record with a continuous improvement methodology (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma).
  • APICS certification is strongly preferred
  • Experience in GMP, regulated environment, preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification preferred.
  • SAP, Oracle and applicable supply and demand management tool experience would be an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to link the critical business supply chain, systems, and processes needed to achieve forecast accuracy.
  • Clear understanding of the order-to-cash process in manufacturing businesses.
  • Knowledge of business systems and information technology for managing complex supply chain activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong leader with the ability to influence and manage a large geographically diverse organization.
  • Ability to successfully create clear actionable objectives and facilitate career planning for team members.
