The Director, Offering Management is the product line GM and is responsible for leading, managing and directing all of the offering management related activities within their business and/or product line including: breakthrough ideation and incubation, financial impact for portfolio decisions, VCM / Gross Margin (including pricing strategies), cost management, supplier negotiation, sourcing strategy, STRAP & AOP, product performance, NPI, demand planning, aftermarket strategy, working capital & inventory of portfolio, pursue partnerships, M&A, and divestiture opportunities based on GBE/SBU priorities, etc. At Honeywell, the offering manager owns a product line end-to-end and is accountable for product profitability (P&L). The successful candidate will work closely with customers, manufacturing and sourcing, engineering and R&D, internal senior executives, Field Sales organization, key business partners and the senior management team to maximize the growth, development and return on investment of the organizations product portfolio today and in the future. Bottom line, they own the product plans, strategy and profitability.\r\r

Responsibilities include: \r\r

Strategy & Planning:
\r Integrate inputs to develop distinctive product plans with outstanding financial outcomes; Be competent in microeconomics, finance, Voice of the Customer research (VOC), research and analysis and basic marketing toolkit [market definition and sizing, segmentation, value management, targeting and positioning, pricing]
\r Promote strong market orientation and influence strategy formulation and investment decisions
\r Own the product planning process including new product additions working with RD&E and ISC, Sales; sun-set current products; develop and manage product roadmaps linked to segments, customer needs and willingness to pay; product positioning linked to distinctive understanding of competitive offerings and value; product value pricing; SKU management.\r\r

Value Management/Value Pricing:
\r Design VOC; understand segmentation; understand value elements critical to customers; calculate value equations; target value propositions to customer segments
\r Deep experience applying value pricing toolkit; Promote use of value pricing
\r Develop dynamic pricing strategies based on value delivered relative to customers next best alternative.
\r Drive value pricing discipline in the business; Drives tool development and learning
\r Lead implementation of value pricing; Lead change management around pricing management; Drive significant financial results & lead and develop other pricing leaders\r\r

Transactional Pricing:
\r Understand transactional pricing tool kit and analytical techniques; Understand pricing waterfall tool; execute waterfall analysis and drive to actions with financial results.
\r Strong fundamental understanding and ability to apply transactional pricing toolkit to drive to actions; Strong demonstrated ability to implement transactional pricing recommendations
\r Demonstrate ability to implement transactional pricing with positive results; Drive strong financial results\r\r

Customer Relationship Management:
\r Link between technology/product lines and customers. Ability to communicate the value of the offering in customer centric terms to cause customer to choose Honeywell offerings based on value delivered
\r Strong VOC skill set and ability meaningful VOC driven to important implications
\r Strong knowledge of how to drive value propositions into compelling customer pitches that result in customer orders \r\r

Products and Services Management:
\r Classic product/services management. Understand and manage product/services life cycles, profitability, demand planning, new product/services development ideation and process management, competitive offerings
\r Promote organization-wide innovation and cooperation in the development of new products and services
\r Direct and maintain competitive product/service portfolios that deliver more value than next best alternative; Model and lead innovation
\r Solid demonstration of innovating profitable business models and leading change as required; Has strong skills to lead other offering managers
\r Use structured processes to manage financial results, road mapping and portfolio planningMOR, etc.\r\r

Brand and Channel Management:
\r Assist or contribute to the creation and building of brands; Assist in the brand management; Manage competitive brands
\r Consistently works with customer marketing to effectively promote and advertise brands
\r Excellent job of managing channels with positive results for business
\r Clearly demonstrate support for the channel with real programs and value delivered to channel members \r\r

Program & Project Management:
\r Establish/maintain a project management framework in line with strategic objectives; Direct and control the delivery of programs and projects
\r Establish and promote the use of metrics to improve program effectiveness; Use structured processes to manage programs/projects

YOU MUST HAVE

    \r\t
  • Masters degree in Marketing or Engineering\r\t
  • \t 6+ years experience in product marketing or product management in similar role(s)\r\t
  • 2+ years of demonstrated success leading marketing, strategic planning and offering management / product management and product marketing.\r\t
  • \t2 years P&L experience for Product line\r\r
