Director of New Product Management, Global Customer Care (New Product Introduction)

  • Lead a team of program managers and product specialists to get the technical phone support, service coordination, field service and repair center associates in the regions ready to support new Cepheid products
  • Partner with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory, Product Management, Sales and Marketing and other cross functional teams to ensure the successful launch of new products
  • Define the service and support work stream in the new product development tollgate process and develop standard work for the New Product Introduction team
  • Define what does good serviceability look like for Cepheid products, including system, software and assays. Work with R&D to incorporate design for serviceability into early stage of new product development
  • Develop Service and Support P&L model for new product launches
  • Lead the global service marketing function, design global service product segmentation and strategy, drive competitive analysis and develop playbook and best practices to market and sell service products
  • Extrapolate insights from voice of customer programs and incorporate them into the New Product Introduction process in order to improve customer experience
  • Design and develop product support strategy to enable business expansion in the indirect and distributor markets
  • Service and Support liaison to support product life cycle management
  • Service and Support liaison to develop and support Cepheid Connectivity strategy
  • Drive engagement and team building of the New Product Introduction team, create and support development plans for the team members
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


    • Bachelor€™s degree in related field with 14+ years related work experience OR
    • Master€™s degree in field with 12+ years of related work experience
    • 4+ years managing people


      • Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Engineering, or other relevant majors with technical aptitude to comprehend scientific and technical content
      • Experience in new product development or service and support in medical device, clinical laboratory or life science industries
      • Experience in commercializing service offerings or managing service P&L
      • Comfortable working in a metric-oriented, result-driven and fast-paced organization
      • Demonstrated track record of strong leadership, organizational and communication skills
      • Customer oriented mindset
