**Job Description**

CVS is a Fortune 8 company embarking on a journey of evolving its existing ExtraCare program into a world-class personalization and loyalty program. This is a top initiative within the company and we have a team dedicated to recruiting the best talent in the world to help propel us to this goal. The company has already invested in state-of-the-art technology and scaling of our loyalty program, now we are focused on optimizing our customer contact strategy. We are looking for the best and brightest to in our existing Analytics team and help deliver on this initiative.

The Director of Strategic Analytics will be leading analytical efforts to optimize targeted Loyalty CRM campaigns (ExtraCare) and provide insights to the strategy implementation team. This involves developing, validating and scaling analytics driven contact strategies through rapid test and learn across a variety of programs and channels, working with a team of 2-4 analysts and external vendor/consultants. The perfect candidate will have experience managing a team, and have passion/experience for using data to drive business decision making and storytelling. You will need to be a true business partner to the organization, and possess the demonstrated ability to work cross functionally (from strategy to execution) to develop and turn insights into impactful business actions. Strong quantitative problem-solving and communication/relationship skills are critical to be successful in this role. This position is based out of our Woonsocket, RI office and will report to the Sr. Director of Loyalty & Personalization, with consistent exposure to VP levels.


Bridging the gap between strategic analytics and the retail personalization strategy team and operating on the leadership team to set direction.

Lead data & analytics to develop strategies that intersect category management, vendors and loyalty program design - this may include audience selection, product and offer recommendation, multi-channel contact cadence, external data, etc.

Plan campaign optimization A/B testing roadmap and lead the implementation from pre-test analysis, to test design, to execution support , to statistical measurement and post-test analysis and synthesizing the results/recommendation

Accountable for execution and delivery of multiple analytical projects in a fast paced environment.

Supervises others on projects, including project management, business problem solving, guidance on methodologies, innovation and quality controls throughout projects

Performs hands-on analysis of data using analytical and statistical tools such as SQL and/or SAS to uncover insights in customer behavior and business profitability

Partner with cross functional teams helping them interpret the implications and use of analytical results and work together to launch these strategies and close loop test & learn management

Partner closely operational aspects of the loyalty program working closely with IT/systems and process capabilities and manage limitations to enable testing and scaling.

Partner with Advanced Analytics teams to develop and improve predictive models

Prepares and delivers presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement, and communicates with Sr. leadership in a top down manner

Works with Sr. leaders in planning, developing, and executing short and long-range goals.

Manage a team of 2-4 Analysts and provide guidance, training and motivation as necessary for their professional development.

**Required Qualifications**

8+ years experience in customer analysis and insight development, customer behavioral analytics, database marketing, marketing research or related field

5+ years of Analytic management/ leadership experience, with demonstrated growth and progressive responsibility over time

3+ years experience leading large teams including both direct and indirect reports

3+ years experience in developing highly targeted campaigns based on data and analytics; Deep understanding in personalization is a must

Strategy & Analytics experience in retail, consumer packaged goods, credit card, airline OR related consulting environment.

Demonstrated capability to deliver work and provide positive leadership in fast-paced, multi-project team-oriented environment. Flexible and can tolerate ambiguity and still operate effectively

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Experience with wide variety of Advanced Analytics techniques; statistical analysis skills strongly preferred; Deep SQL knowledge and experience is a requirement

- Strong problem structuring and solving skills including data structuring, quantitative reasoning, and implications development.

- Shown capability to deliver work and provide positive leadership in dynamic, multi-project team-oriented environment. Flexible and can tolerate ambiguity and still operate effectively

- Strategy & Analytics experience in retail, consumer packaged goods, OR related consulting environment.

- Proven track record of turning insights into action


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
