Use your strengths as Director Health Services \u2013 Operations & Business Support<\/strong><\/p>

In this new leadership role, you will set the strategy and tactical plan, drive automation, and ensure synergy for Health Services Operations & Business Support. You will ensure optimal member engagement and experience by leading leaders and teams comprised of training and development, business planning and readiness, system configuration, delivery and maintenance, vendor management and community service support. In addition, you will work collaboratively with Health Service peers/teams, Technology, and business stakeholders to accomplish the goals, objectives and strategic plans for the department and company, continually seeking opportunities to be results oriented and add value to differentiate Health Services from other health payors.<\/p>

Because this role is a leader of leaders and teams, you directly impact the success, growth, and development of team members by setting clear expectations, defining accountabilities, coaching to leaders and team members strengths, facilitating change, and providing an overall positive and team-centric work environment. Being a role model in behaviors that demonstrate Wellmarks core competencies and strengths-focus is a must. Aside from passion for leading leaders and teams, ideal candidates are skilled at taking strategy and diverse inputs to create well-orchestrated execution plans that deliver high quality results. Qualifications<\/h2>

Minimum Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

  • Bachelors Degree in business, health care administration or related field, OR direct and applicable work experience.<\/li>
  • 7+ years of project/program experience in a highly complex industry, such as health insurance, health care, or financial services. Experience must reflect:
    • Track record of success leading multiple large-scale business and/or technology projects/initiatives with exposure to all phases of a project \u2013 e.g., requirements, design, testing, system readiness, performance, maintenance etc.<\/li>
    • Proven ability to develop comprehensive, customer-centric strategic and tactical plans.<\/li>
    • Effective resource management/planning, budgeting, and forecasting.<\/li> <\/ul><\/li>
    • Demonstrated leadership experience, including building/developing high performing leaders and leaders of teams that consistently deliver value-added results.<\/li>
    • Strong consulting skills and understanding of the business and its interdependencies. Balances expertise and business acumen with understanding of customer/stakeholder needs and resourcing.<\/li>
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and research skills. Creative approach to continuous improvement through process improvement and automation. Uses data to inform decisions.<\/li>
    • Strong technical acumen; learns new systems/tools/methodologies quickly.<\/li>
    • Develops collaborative strong relationships with others, including executives, divisional leadership and operational teams resulting in the consistent development and delivery and execution of strategic business solutions. Effectively influences others to break down barriers, resolve conflict, foster collaboration and creates a culture of teamwork.<\/li>
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Effectively articulates business needs, implications and actionable recommendations to varying audiences, including executives. Strong business case development and presentation skills.<\/li>
    • Self-starter with a thoughtful approach to initiative prioritization and management; skilled at moving from strategy into tactics and execution. Establishes clear goals/expectations, aligns appropriate resources, and motivates teams in order to achieve success. Remains adaptable, open to feedback, and focused during unanticipated challenges.<\/li>
    • Strong change management skills. Effectively coaches and leads leaders and teams through change.<\/li>
    • Attentive to details, quality, and effective at establishing governance.<\/li>
    • Ability to travel <5%.<\/li><\/ul>

      Preferred Qualifications: <\/u><\/strong><\/p>

      • Masters Degree.<\/li>
      • Exposure to health care data systems - e.g., care/utilization management, claims, eligibility, health risk assessments, EMRs.<\/li>
      • Complex program/project management. Vendor system implementation and vendor management is a plus.<\/li>
      • Prior experience leading leaders.<\/li><\/ul>

        JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/h2>

        a. Set the vision with leaders of teams and the teams for health services member experience, system delivery, vendor management and community services by providing strategic direction and leadership for a team that supports Wellmark, divisional, and department strategy, tactics and goals. Cascade and communicate strategy and initiatives to team leaders and members while continually seeking opportunities to add value and differentiate our services and supporting achievement of overall company results.<\/p>

         <\/p>

        b. Provide day-to-day leadership of financial and human resources, primarily focusing on employee and leader coaching, development, performance improvement, coordination and budgeting for multiple staff, and department(s) specific functions/service.<\/p>

         <\/strong><\/p>

        c. Business Planning, Process Improvement & Automation<\/strong> \u2013 Work directly with department leadership to facilitate the process of translating Wellmarks corporate strategies and tactics into actionable Health Service delivery of results. Develop and execute a business planning roadmap that supports the department and corporate strategy.  <\/p>

         <\/p>

        d. Oversee multiple projects or workstreams of varying scale and scope. Manage all aspects of program and project deliverables across the enterprise that impact Health Services and associated workstreams. Ensure final deliverables meet or exceed standards and organizational expectations. <\/p>

         <\/strong><\/p>

        e. Member Experience Implementation<\/strong> \u2013 Provide strategic oversight, leadership, and drive business/change aspects for care teams responsible for members complex conditions, navigation, and use of the health care system. Ensures optimal member engagement and experience are achieved by driving business readiness, including the development of training programs and change management activities.<\/p>

         <\/p>

        f. Oversee the implementation, continuous monitoring, and maintenance of system capabilities and functionality, including planning, delivery of production support activities. Support existing systems and Health Service applications, databases and files by ensuring design, selection, deployment and maintenance of business systems that are successfully integrated and operated within Wellmarks business and technical environments. <\/p>

         <\/strong><\/p>

        g. System Configuration & Integrations<\/strong> \u2013 Provide strategic direction, planning, and daily leadership to technical team members. Oversee business and technical rule configuration, comprehensive testing, and quality functions for all system changes, upgrades, integrations, and file transfers. Ensure end-to-end business operations achieve desired goals and outcomes.<\/p>

        h. Community Services<\/strong> \u2013 Oversee the identification, collection, and management of community resource information for in and out-of-state services and ensure it is readily available for use by care teams. Collaborate with other Blues plans and others to maintain and ensure member resources are kept up to date and meet members needs. <\/p>

         <\/p>

        i. Health Service Vendors <\/strong>\u2013 Provide strategic oversight for the development, implementation and management of Wellmarks Health Services vendors, including effectively building and maintaining external third-party relationships. Ensure management of the day-to-day operations of the Point Source Solution Program in collaboration with Sales, Product and other business areas. Lead the team to coordinate daily interactions and administration of relationships between Wellmark and vendors.<\/p>

         <\/p>

        j. Collaborate with Procurement in the oversight and development of vendor contracts and service level agreements (SLAs). Serve as subject matter expert and provide input for decisions related to vendor relationships, assignments, performance, roles and responsibilities, operations and organizational prioritization of vendor dependent projects and programs.<\/p>
