Director, Cyber Systems Mission Solutions

The Position
Reporting to the General Manager, Cyber Systems, the candidate for the Director Air Force and Space Programs position is a leader and visionary and will be responsible for the overall management of the business unit.  The ideal candidate will have intimate knowledge of and will interface with DoD and intelligence community customers.  The ideal candidate will establish the strategic vision and plan with a focus on growing the business.  The ideal candidate will also be responsible for performance of his direct reports, including Program Managers and Capture Managers.   

Additional and Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Working closely with Program Managers, Business Development Managers, Outside Consultants and Engineering Resources to formulate business capture plans and to execute those plans.

  • Develop executive relationships with customers.
  • Assess Market Level Trends.
  • Develop a Market Level Strategic Business Plan consistent with the division and higher strategy.

  • Identify Strategic Acquisition Targets.
  • Oversight for Program Solution Development.
  • Forecasting orders and meeting forecasts for a one to five year time horizon.

  • Being the strategic lead in pursuit of specific customer revenue opportunities.

  • Investment planning including Market Assessment funds, IR&D, B&P, CAPEX.

    Position Requirements

    The Director will possess knowledge and experience with Cryptographic Information Assurance and Key Management technology, Cyber Security requirements and control mechanisms, Tactical Networking, Software Defined Networks, Data Analytics and Big/Cloud Data, and Cyber Security.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of current and future DoD and Intelligence Community Cyber missions utilizing aforementioned technology.  The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience of the various DoD platforms, weapon systems, and installations on which the aforementioned systems and capabilities are implemented.  Intimate knowledge and experience with the Air Force and Air Force Space Command is highly desirable.

    Additionally, the successful candidate will possess:

    • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline:  Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree.  Advanced degree desirable.

    • A minimum of 12 years experience in Program Management / Business Development

    • Evidence of past success in leadership positions

    • A proven track record of managing people
    • Experience in the pursuit and capture process of DoD programs including positioning for and winning business

    • A strong network of contacts within the Air Force, DoD and Intelligence Community

    • Managing and preparing quality proposals 
    • An understanding of the Air Force, DoD and Intelligence Community acquisition process

    • Demonstrated ability in project scheduling, monitoring and control and use of project management tools

    • Demonstrated ability to execute both strategically and tactically

    • An active US Government Secret clearance (Top Secret / SCI with full scope poly security clearance highly desirable)

    • Prior military experience is a plus
    • US Citizenship required
    • Travel estimated to be 20% - 40% per year
