The Director, Commercial Analytics will be responsible for partnering with the Sales & Marketing teams within Bauschs Salix Business Unit to provide the teams with data driven business insights, reporting, and analytical projects to drive business performance.  This role will collaborate across multiple functions within Commercial Operations and Market Access to leverage data and analytics to drive strategic and executional excellence across the Salix portfolio of brands. A premium will be placed on communication strategic thinking, business acumen, and analytical ability. This role will reside within the Commercial Insights & Analytics function and partner closely with Targeting, Call Planning, Incentive Compensation, Market Research, Forecasting, Market Access, and Information Management. This person must be comfortable with operating in a fast paced \u201cstart-up\u201d type environment.  This role will have high visibility to the General Manager, VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, Brand Directors and Regional Sales Directors within the Salix business unit. This role reports to the Sr Director, Commercial Analytics and will manage 2-4 contracted resources (onsite & offshore) to support day to day activities.<\/p>

  • Immersion in the strategic and tactical plans of the Salix brands to proactively support performance measurement and reporting needs.<\/li>
  • Develop and maintain regular weekly and monthly KPI reporting for key promoted brands.<\/li>
  • Serve as a strategic partner for the Salix business in driving common processes and practices for measurement and evaluation of Commercial performance.<\/li>
  • Develop strong working relationships with Salix Sales & Marketing VPs and Directors as well as Commercial Analytics functional leads to maximize the value of those capabilities for Salix.<\/li>
  • Establishing regular performance reviews with Sales & Marketing leadership that measure the performance across key performance metrics related to sales demand, competition, field execution, marketing initiatives, etc.<\/li>
  • Support Brand Directors in measuring execution and success of marketing tactics <\/li>
  • Proactively develop insights related to competitive market conditions, promotion, and market access and identify areas of opportunity for growth.<\/li>
  • Connect the dots across Sales & Marketing, Sales Planning, Forecasting & Analytics to drive a common story on performance of Salix brands and execution of tactics.<\/li>
  • Leverage data and analytics to support the Long Range Strategic planning efforts of Salix<\/li>
  • Work closely with Sales Operations & Reporting to ensure field reporting aligns to the strategic direction of the brands as well as meets the needs of the field.<\/li>
  • Co-develop quarterly business review presentation through the appropriate use of data and analytics.<\/li><\/ul>

    • Bachelors degree; Advanced degree in business-related discipline preferred<\/li>
    • 12-15 years of work experience <\/li>
    • 5+ years Pharmaceutical industry experience in Commercial <\/li>
    • Experience in supporting and interacting closely with Executive Management<\/li>
    • Extensive knowledge of various industry data sources such as: IMS Rx data (xPonent, xPonent Plantrak, DDD, HCOS, and Patient Level data) <\/li>
    • Proficiency in SAS, SQL, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical + reporting tools<\/li><\/ul>
