We are seeking a Director of Business Development to lead the Business Development team for Northrop Grumman's Payloads and Ground Systems (PGS) Remote Sensing Programs (RSP) Business Unit (BU). This position will report directly to the Payloads and Ground Systems Strategy and Business Development Director.

Candidate may be located in any of the following locations:

+ Baltimore, MD (Preferred location)
+ Fairfax, VA
+ Falls Church VA

This position will:

+ Lead RSP BU BD Team 2. Act as primary RSP BU POC for identifying, finding and maintaining new customers and partnership opportunities (to include suppliers)

3. Develop customer contact and introduction plans at key events - (e.g. Goddard dinner, INSA, Space Symposium). Recommend external events and opportunities RSP BU and OUs should be attending and why

4. Partner in developing and implementing BU-level strategy, in consideration with division and sector expectations, to grow our business and exceed our Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Strategic Plan (LRSP) targets

5. Collaborates across Strategy, BD and Technology functions
6. Work with sales, marketing and current/potential Intelligence Community and Department of Defense (DoD) customers to determine customer specific needs.
7. Identify and implement business development projects relating to new space segment products and/or industries, technologies, or services within the RSP BU.
8. Identify within the Intelligence Community and DoD Space markets, licensing opportunities, and use that information to determine the feasibility of RSP BU product development.
9. Enforce the utilization of those product building blocks on capture opportunities.
10. Complete and maintain a competitive assessment of RSP BU capabilities against the emerging market
11. Perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities and/or business models and coordinate with RSP BU VP and Operating Units (OUs) in identifying/implementing business development projects.
12. Conduct briefings and technical meetings for top management and customer representatives.
13. Lead formation of investment strategies for the RSP BU, with focused attention on cross-OU, cross-division and cross-sector collaboration.
14. Identify and fill white-space in the operations of implementing the BU strategy
15. Interact with equivalent-level managers concerning matters of significance to the company and represent the functional/business unit or program as internal & external contact

16. Interact with director & VP-level customer management and influence customer perceptions/opinions

17. Provide recommendations for capture managers and capture teams to partner with RSP OU program managers to define and capture new opportunities
18. Ensure RSP capture managers and teams are leveraging best practices from across Northrop Grumman - Agile, Model Based Systems Engineering, Configuration Management, proper procurement and cost & schedule estimating and planning tools
19. Support Corporate, Sector and Division tasks and requests to include Business Area Reviews, Pipeline Reviews, Gate Reviews, Capture Teams, Pursuit Review Teams, Business Strategy Teams and Future Teams.
20. Develop and disseminate information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives


**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree
+ 9 years of DoD business development, capture management, program management, or engineering experience
+ 4 years of management experience
+ Current and active Top Secret and SCI security clearance

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Master's degree in Technical/Business field
+ Strategic Capture and Business Development experience
+ Strategic Planning, New Business Development, and Investment Planning
+ Strong customer domain knowledge (Space Intelligence Community and Space related Department of Defense programs)
+ Experience supporting cross-business initiatives and/or programs
+ Experience leading and managing multi-disciplined teams
+ Strong understanding of Earned Value Management System to ensure cost and schedule performance
+ A proven track record of sustained business growth with Space Intelligence Community and DoD programs across a broad range of customers
