**What You'll Do Here:**



The **Digital Product Manager** is part of the **National Geographic Learning** team, and is responsible for managing and executing the technical strategy throughout all phases of the product development lifecycle, including but not limited to: defining the product vision, gathering and prioritizing customer and business requirements, creating internal and external documentation, and the launch and training of internal teams. The Digital Product Manager acts as the subject matter expert for all areas of the digital product and provides business direction and guidance to engineering teams and vendors. Today the products are delivered in the formats of Learning Apps, Classroom Presentation Tools, Online Workbooks, E-Books, Companion Websites, and DVD media. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest supporting global products and working with international team.



+ Using agile methodologies, champions the strategic planning and execution of digital product software releases

+ Has a deep understanding of the customer profile and competitive landscape and shares knowledge to influence requirements prioritization and product decision making

+ Identifies and organizes design prototyping, UX research, and user testing to validate business case assumptions

+ Manages backlogs and provides quarterly updates to product roadmaps

+ Writes and articulates use cases, user stories, feature specifications, and any additional documentation that defines the business needs for development

+ Creates release notes, internal product announcements, and internal/external documentation

+ Monitors development costs against budget and provides monthly status updates

+ Synthesizes business and analytics data to report on product usage and measures success against key performance indicators

+ Ability to manage multiple software development streams of work and integrations simultaneously

+ Ability to navigate development roadblocks with flexibility/adaptability and seeks to resolve issues with urgency

+ Balances thinking and planning with action plans

+ Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

+ Evaluates customer needs against known business priorities; facilitates requirements meetings in a way that achieves prioritization consensus between stakeholders

+ Aligns expectations with clear communication of the product strategy and timing of feature availability

+ Takes initiative and leads change



**Qualifications**



+ Bachelors degree

+ Minimum of 5 years digital product management experience

+ Previous Agile development experience as a product champion or business analyst

+ Proficiency presenting to large groups of stakeholders and cross-functional teams

+ Prior success managing backlogs, defining roadmaps, and launching software releases

+ Excellent verbal/written communication skills and experience using online digital tools

+ Education technology and/or digital publishing experience preferred

+ Ability to travel to meet with teams domestically and internationall
