Most importantly, with everything we do, we put learning first. **What You'll Do Here:** The **Digital Content Manager** is part of the **National Geographic Learning** team. The Digital Content Manager is a strategic project manager overseeing the creation and delivery of digital content through the planning and controlling of scope, budget, and time schedules. The Digital Content Manager manages dependencies for all program components, creates risk-mitigations plans, and demonstrates leadership during the implementation and execution of the plan. Product delivery types include Learning Apps, Classroom Presentation Tools, Online Workbooks, E-Books, Companion Websites, and DVD media. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest supporting global products and working with international teams. **PROJECT PLANNING (20%)** + Collaborates with Editorial, Marketing, and Print Production teams to develop a high level strategy for digital components, giving detailed attention to schedules, resources, and budget requirements. + Maps the availability and readiness of digital media to create a schedule of integrated dependencies and predict target publishing dates. + Identifies digital authoring tasks required to execute the plan, as well as, resources needed to support the plan. + Collaborates with digital product managers to understand scope of new technology development (if applicable) and intersection of technology schedules with content schedules. + Develops detailed project plans for each component level; monitors and controls schedule dependencies. **DIGITAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT (50%)** + Exhibits subject-matter expertise of the content authoring system and works with Editorial teams to define authoring guidelines for the project. + Leads the digital development launch meeting and communicates the digital strategy with key stakeholders. + Directs and manages all parts of the digital content development process. Sets priorities, manages internal and external resources, and solves problems to ensure that digital products are developed efficiently and within schedule and budget. + Aligns content testing schedules, editorial reviews, and cold reads to produce a quality control plan for product delivery. + Triages bugs reported by Editorial and collaborates with digital team and vendor on priorities. Tracks and communicates status of each issue and resolution with Editorial. **STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS (25%)** + Facilitates the digital publishing process proactively and effectively with all project stakeholders, including internal and external contributors and staff in other departments. + Schedules and leads monthly project status meetings to report on component publishing dates, risks, and contingency plans. + Provides meeting notes and creates additional artifacts that enhance and improve communications across all departments (Global Product teams, Production, Digital, Manufacturing, Marketing, etc.). + Coordinates digital deliverables critical to the support of marketing launches and early customer adoptions. **FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (5%)** + Tracks costs against budget and reports monthly status of the program; communicates risks and changes. + Makes content development decisions that keep program budgets within approved cost projections. + Assures financial transparency and adherence to department and company policies. **Skills You Will Need Here:** **Essential Criteria** + Track record in managing complex digital projects to successful conclusion + Ability to effectively present information to senior stakeholders + Highly organized with a deliberate attention to details + Demonstrates strong leadership skills collaborating with cross-functional teams + Navigates project roadblocks with flexibility/adaptability; seeks to resolve with urgency + Balances thinking and planning with action + Takes initiative and leads change **Qualifications** + Bachelors degree + Minimum of 7+ years digital project management + Proficiency presenting to large groups of stakeholders + Excellent verbal/written communication skills and experience using online digital tools + Education technology and/or digital publishing experience preferred + Ability to travel to meet with teams domestically and internationally \#LI-MO1 IND-Product **Job Locations** _US-MA-Boston_ **Posted Date** _2 months ago_ _(10/17/2019 11:03 AM)_ **_Requisition ID_** _2019-7136_ **_Job Function_** _Production_ Cengage is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to attracting and retaining a talented and diverse workforce.
