Location/Division Specific Information

Clinical Sequencing Division office in South San Francisco is the R&D center for Next Generation Sequencing. We develop not only the hardware as well as the informatic software platform.

How will you make an impact?

You will be working on Next Generation Sequencing Platforms that will have lasting impact in the world of clinical research and diagnostic.

What will you do?
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for multiple internal applications
  • Manage regular software deployment to standalone servers and Linux clusters
  • Troubleshoot application or system issues related to R&D clusters and servers
  • Support R&D projects in software configuration and data management
  • Work with IT to manage R&D Linux environment in multiple remote locations

How will you get here?
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in maintaining and administering Ubuntu, CentOS/RedHat systems including cluster of Linux machines.
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS with emphasis on tooling for infrastructure as code such TerraForm, CloudFormation.
  • 2+ years of experience with distributed systems or container orchestration framework preferred, i.e. Kubernetes, Marathon, Docker Swarm, or AWS ECS.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong networking fundamentals and concepts are required.
  • Strong coding skills are required in at least one of programming language such as Java, Python, or Golang.
  • Strong containerization knowledge is required, i.e. Docker, LXD, …
  • Familiar with configuration management system such Ansible, Puppet, Chef
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Must be comfortable to performing all tasks remotely
