DevOps Platform Services Management Lead

The DevOps Platform Services Management Lead is a senior level position responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead efforts to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned framework.


+ Primarily involved in environment service management for lower environments. Drive Incident / Defect/ Problem/ Change management. Provide hands-on technical support and analysis as needed.

+ Responsible for ensuring availability and stability of APAC & EMEA systems and applications in lower environments.

+ Establish and define change management, incident management, defect management, and governance functions for key DevOps strategic initiatives in order to facilitate enhanced environmental stability and control incidents and to ensure on-going operational efficiency for APAC & EMEA Consumer systems, platforms, and applications.

+ SME to triage incident and resolve incidents and problems in day to day activity to ensure the soundness of the system.

+ Actively develop plan and solutions for lower environment stability and support.

+ Follow established processes and improve process/procedures to meet environment needs maintain standards, monitoring, patch and upgrades and automation tools.

+ Partner with Application Development and Testing teams for quick incident triage and environment defect management leveraging Engineering tools and technologies to automate day to day job execution process.

+ Identify opportunities to optimize current solutions and perform technical analysis and/or provide hands on technical support, on an as needed basis, to troubleshoot problems related to poorly performing systems in test environments.

+ Plan and enhance standard operating procedures across different lower environments.

+ Prepare weekly status reports with operation metrics.

+ Mentor team members to support various applications.

+ Be detail-oriented and focused to meet deliverables and support DevOps issues.

+ Persuades and influences others through communication skills.

+ Domain knowledge of how services work & investigation of issues and stability of environments taken care with utmost care. Detailed knowledge needed for WAS ,Messaging & Oracle DB support, Application configuration management, Code Deployment, Software release management, performance monitoring, and Certificate management.

+ Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap

+ Ensure that all integration of functions meet business goals

+ Define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process enhancements

+ Recommend product customization for system integration

+ Identify problem causality, business impact and root causes

+ Exhibit knowledge of how own specialty area contributes to the business and apply knowledge of competitors, products and services

+ Advise or mentor junior team members

+ Impact the engineering function by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


+ 10+ years of experience with various technology platforms like messaging, front end, Data warehouse & mainframes.

+ Thorough understanding of ITIL processes and implementation.

+ Should be a Team player, knowledge of most of the tech stacks from PCF, WAS , Tibco Solace etc.

+ Experience with monitoring tools especially Splunk and AppDynamics

+ Experience in a Financial Services or large complex and/or global environment preferred

+ Ability to lead the team of contractors to provide support for incident, change, defect, patch &, certificate management.

+ Ability to Present, escalate and update senior management of the issues and actions to be taken to remediate the same.

+ Excellent verbal & written communication, interpersonal skills.

+ Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment

+ Project Management experience

+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

+ Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices

+ Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills

+ Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams

+ Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative

+ Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

+ Proven track record of operational process change and improvement


+ Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience

+ Masters degree preferred
