This position will provide tech support for Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) Released Product Engineering (RPE). The hiring RPE group provides both electrical and mechanical hardware design engineering support for external medical instrumentation products with a primary focus on the continuity of quality and compliant product. This Design Technician position will be responsible for labs and lab equipment, failure analysis, testing, creating test samples/fixtures, and documentation.


**A Day in the Life**


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


+ Maintain the labs to comply with environmental health and safety requirements (EHS)

+ Inventory and order lab materials as needed

+ Manage logistics for equipment calibration including location tracking, compliance to calibration protocols, and documenting out-of-tolerance reports and asset transfers

+ Perform failure analysis on returned medical devices and sub-assemblies

+ Create, assemble, disassemble, rework and troubleshoot test samples and test fixtures

+ Execute test plans involving assembly level, device functional, environmental, and safety testing

+ Develop and characterize test methods in collaboration with test engineers

+ Generate formal quality records including analysis findings and test results

+ Create and implement Engineering Change Orders and Actions (CO CA)

+ Optimize test methodologies and practices in the laboratory


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Minimum of 8 years of experience of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education and advanced certification in addition to prior work experience


**Nice to Have**


+ Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills; effective interpersonal and influence skills

+ Comfortable working independently with little to no supervision

+ Working with electrical lab equipment including signal generators, oscilloscopes, soldering stations, power supplies, multimeters, source meters and network analyzers

+ Fine pitch soldering capability

+ Understanding circuit board diagrams and schematics

+ Working with mechanical lab equipment including drill presses, high speed rotary tools, and mechanical shears

+ Experience with quick turn assignments

+ Experience with Microsoft Office

+ Experience working cross-culturally

+ Experience in both design and manufacturing support

+ Experience with medical products

+ Experience in a regulated industry

+ Familiarity with EHS requirements
