Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering Organization, is currently seeking a Drafter for its Construction Engineering Group. This individual will provide drafting expertise for the design of multiple product deployments and facility related engineering drawings. This team of engineering and systems installation professionals has been tasked with deploying systems around the world. The design team is comprised of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical licensed professional engineers specializing in facility design within a radar, air traffic control, and telecommunications infrastructure environment. This group performs site layout and design, facility design, systems transition, integration planning, construction management, systems installation, integration, system optimization, testing, system maintenance, and logistics support. The customer sites for these projects are typically government sites with agencies such as DoD, FAA, TSA and Homeland Security. This role will initially support designs of TSA related checkpoint screening product layout deployed in airports across the US. Floor Plans, layouts, equipment details as well as topology diagrams are likely product outputs. As a Drafter, you will work with engineers to produce facility design drawings and as-built drawings using CAD software, including primarily civil design but also architectural, electrical and mechanical facilities design. You will be responsible for technical coordination with engineers. You must be able to work within established standards. You should be able to work effectively in a team setting. As a Drafter, you will take technical direction from existing team members and provide support to project engineers in deriving drafting solutions. Required Skills: As a Drafter with this group, you must have an Associates Degree in CAD Technology or at least 10 years experience in drafting. Your experience should include the development of drawing packages to permit the detailed layout and construction of complex designs. You should have a good understanding of industry drafting standards. You should have the ability to work effectively in a multi-task environment, and have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Occasional travel Desired Skills: Prior experience with electronic facility design, floor plans, airport checkpoint/baggage system and Security Design, or prior federal government contract experience is desired.
