AECOM is seeking a qualified and motivated Design-Build (DB) Project Manager for Central Florida (Orlando or Tampa), Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina to support the pursuit and delivery of various Design-Build programs. This position will be part of an exciting team employing the latest technologies to solve critical water supply, treatment, and infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems throughout the United States and Canada. This is an opportunity to work on some of our nations most pressing water infrastructure problems and contributing to AECOMs success as an industry leader in engineering and construction.

The Project Manager will be charged with responsibility to direct the performance of ongoing water and wastewater projects as well as take a leadership role in the development and capture of upcoming design-build pursuits. It is desirable that the DB Project Manager is capable of performing in both engineering management and construction project management capacities. As a DB Project Manager the primary responsibilities will include managing the activities of a multi-discipline design through AECOMs design centers, as well as overall project management for procurement, scheduling, value engineering, constructability reviews, familiarity with job cost reporting, and budget control activities through the life of the project, including EAC analysis during on-site construction as prime contracting entity. Those Project Managers with either Design Build project management experience or Construction Management (at-risk) or prime contracting experience will be considered especially those with water/wastewater industry experience or those with experience in industrial (process) oriented construction fields. The successful candidate will also hold a DBIA Certification.

The successful candidate will have proven project management skills to deliver projects at or under budget and on schedule. Candidate must also have a working knowledge of job accounting and reporting methods such as earned value and estimates to complete.

This position requires the skill set to facilitate engineering and construction teams working collaboratively together to deliver the project while maintaining strong client relationships. Candidate will lead regular marketing and business development meetings with Project/Capture Managers across the region and participate in responses to requests for proposals/qualifications. Candidate will coordinate and track business development efforts with and in support of Leadership.

Minimum Requirements

As an essential contributor to the Design-Build practice, you would possess the following:

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Civil/Environmental/Sanitary/Chemical Engineering

  • 8 years' experience in delivering engineering and construction projects at risk in the water/wastewater industry or those projects delivered at-risk as a general contractor

  • DBIA certification

  • Proven project management experience with ability to manage a diverse team and multiple deadlines

  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15-20 years experience in delivering engineering and construction projects at risk in the water/wastewater industry
