The DBaaS devOps Engineer is a senior level position who can take a client focused approach to designing and building state of the art database self-service automated solutions. The goal of this group is to automate the Database use as a Service for one-click service to the developer community in a DevOps model. The ideal candidate has experience building an end-to-end solution with full stack responsibility. Candidate will be working on MSaaS solution automation workflows using Power shell, chef, Ansible, Python & SQL and also working on development of Database Automation Portal. A broad understanding of database technologies and the cloud landscape in the database space is required. This role requires clear communications to senior management, key stakeholders and partners.


**Responsibilities:**


Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives, all projects within the group and in creating a technology domain roadmap


Design and implement user interface development for private cloud initiative and overall Database Automation portal


Engineering and Implementation of the integration of Database Automation portal infrastructure with Citi environment.


Responsible for DBaaS solutions application release and life cycle management automation and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using Jenkins


Application tuning, performance optimization and maintenance


Application monitoring and alerting automation


Support of Database Automation portal application issue escalations.


Evaluate new UX front-end and backend portal development technologies and perform proof of concept evaluations


Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


**Qualifications:**


A number of years of experience as a full stack developer role or similar


Engineering and Implementation Database Automation solution and integration with Citi Internal systems.


Understand all phases of software development, including UI / User Interface design and development, micro services design and development, relational and non-relational DBs, APIs and external integration, quality assurance, security, and infrastructure


Understand business functions and user stories. Decompose them into technical specifications, and develop working application code and microservices code.


Solid understanding of a wide range of database technologies that run on premises and in the cloud.


Experience using VMware ESXi 6.0\6.5 & VMware vSphere to manage Windows


Automation with Building Windows servers and Database servers using chef, Ansible and other automation tools


Extensive PowerShell scripting expertise


Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate clearly in high stress situations

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent


Required Skills


+ Must be either UI/JAVA/API development experience using Angular, Java Script, Html, CSS, UI frameworks and Spring framework or Strong server-side engineer with Java, Python, Relational and NO SQL development experience or Windows/MS SQL, PowerShell, Chef Ansible or other automation experience)


+ Strong Java development skills. Proficient in Java, Spring framework, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring MVC, JPA/Hibernate, SOAP and REST (JAX-RS) web services

+ Strong front-end UX design and implementation skills including Angular, Node.JS, Javascript, HTML5/CSS3, Bootstrap, etc

+ Extensive knowledge in Relational and NoSQL (MongoDB) data platforms

+ Prior experience in DevOps tools - Jenkins, Maven, Git, Bitbucket, Jira is must

+ Must have experience with Unix, scripting, Power Shell, Python

+ Work experience with Ansible, Chef, DMA or Microfocus OO Automation or other orchestration tools

+ Exposure to Private, Hybrid and External Cloud Environment

+ Automation with Building and configuring Windows servers and Database servers using chef, Ansible and other automation tools

+ Familiar with SQL Server (2016 and 2019) managing SQL High availability features: Always On, Replication, cloning and backup

+ Knowledge of SQL Server tools (Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, PerfMon, DMVs)

+ Experience with Password Management tools like CyberArk

+ DB Monitoring tools like Solarwinds, SCOM or Splunk.
