Position Summary:
The Data Management/Quality Coordinator is responsible for data management and quality assurance activities to include: prospective and retrospective data collection and submission; conducting regulatory and quality audits/inspections; identifying and resolving compliance issues/concerns; developing and implementing quality improvement plans to mitigate future risk; maintaining records, files and data; and reporting on research compliance activities to ensure compliance with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and NW National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP). The Data Management/Quality Coordinator will assist all NCORP components in auditing patient eligibility and approving registrations. S/he will conduct audits of NW NCORP data management and research activities through desk and onsite audits to ensure timely, quality data submission and compliance with governing research regulations. The Coordinator will participate in the evaluation of research industry best practices for research compliance and quality assurance to develop metrics that drive improvement.
Work situations vary to include working directly in one of the MultiCare Regional Cancer Centers, Administrative Core office, and affiliate sites. Travel to NCORP sites to complete on-site auditing of clinical records is regularly required. Internal contacts may include patient care staff in departments such as Oncology, Pharmacy, Pathology, Radiology, and Medical Records staff. External contacts include physicians, patients, outside organizations, and agencies to include Northwest NCORP Affiliate Sites.

Minimum Requirements:
Two (2) years of research experience within a healthcare setting
Prior experience as a research coordinator, GCP training and/or Research Certification strongly preferred

Bachelors degree required preferably in science, healthcare or other related fields. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement
Within 90 days of hire, must successfully complete training in Human Subject Research (HSR) as required by the Responsible Conduct of Research Guidelines
Employee must provide automobile for use in their work and the employee must be able to comply with MHS Policy on Vehicle Use, Employee Owned. Policy available on request
