The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.
As a Customer Technical Liaison youll work in a professional environment in the Philadelphia Navy Yard with continuous interface with Government personnel (both civilian and military), Government contractors, and other vendors.
In this highly visible, collaborative role your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the systems engineering, configuration management activities, architecture design, system design, integration and development processes of LPD17 class systems, and identifying shortfalls and needed modifications to current systems and networks
Collaborating with LPD customers to develop system product modernization road maps that align with the cost and schedule constraints of the program
Communicating technical solutions to the LPD customer related to modernization activities and issues affecting deployed ships

This position requires an Active DoD Secret security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
This role will require a work-from-home situation in the Philadelphia area, with regular visits to a US Government facility located in the Philadelphia area.

Required Skills:

+ years experience working in any of the following areas: shipboard networking communications, navigation, command and control and/or integrated electronic control systems
6+ years of experience in any of the aforementioned areas along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.

Experience with electronic navigation and/or network communication systems
Experience with hardware/software installations
Active Secret level security clearance
US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of integrated communications networks, including working knowledge of network servers, switches and Internet Protocols (IPs) Working knowledge of Information Assurance (IA), and of recent advancements in cyber security
Familiarity with fundamental concepts of core Whole Life Engineering and Life Cycle Sustainment disciplines
Demonstrated effectiveness in work prioritization in a dynamic environment
Knowledge of LPD 17 Class integrated shipboard electronic systems (MSCS, SWAN, ECS, SCS, IVDS, CIDS, SPS-73, IVN, & NDDS)
Familiarity with the SHIPMAIN maintenance and modernization process.
Experience in creating/reviewing RFPs, SOWs, BOEs and proposals
Working knowledge of planning yard maintenance and modernization documentation
Experience with developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules
Familiarity with the principles of Systems Engineering and Systems Integration to the extent of proposing engineering upgrades in response to technical systemic problems, component obsolescence and/or the emergence of new and superior technologies.
Technical team leadership experience in a cross functional team
Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships at all levels of the customer organization
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
Ability to multi-task, be proactive and prioritize requests
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, RSharePoint, etc.)

Required Education:
Bachelors Degree in a STEM discipline
