As a Clinic Services Representative you will get the chance to work in an innovative and fast-paced environment that puts patients first.  \n

The Neurology department at Virginia Mason is a team of 12 providers who care for patients with a variety of complex neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, ALS, Epilepsy, Dementia, Stroke and many others. As part of the Neurosciences Institute, we work closely with neurosurgery, neuropsychology, the neuro-laboratory, and neuro-rehab.\n

This position represents VMMC by checking patients in at the front desk, managing patient flow, records collection, registering and scheduling new patients, answering phones, and other duties as assigned. You will provide a high level of customer service consistent with VMMC's mission, goals and service standards. \n
 \n
We are seeking someone with:\n
•Proven excellent customer service, communication, verbal and written skills with an emphasis on organization and attention to detail required. \n
•Ability to problem solve and multi-task; keep confidences; knowledge of scheduling parameters, insurance concepts and patient registration software. \n
•Demonstrated basic telephone skills (transfer, conference, placing a patient on hold).\n
•Solid team work and a positive attitude; be comfortable with ambiguity and have the ability to be flexible. \n
•Familiarity with medical terminology and proficient in Microsoft Office products.\n

Qualifications:

    \n
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. \n
  • This position requires a minimum of one year experience in a health care setting, related education or equivalency and demonstrated customer service and/or patient care skills.\n
  • Also required are demonstrated organization, interpersonal communication and basic computer skills. \n
  • In addition, incumbents must demonstrate problem-solving and prioritization skills in order to manage multiple tasks successfully throughout the day.
    Prefer proficiency in VM computer systems (scheduling, electronic mail, computer operating systems, office software, electronic medical records).\n
  • Also prefer demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payor requirements. \n
  • Demonstrated basic clinical skills and telephone skills preferred.\n
